Thank you for all your comments yesterday! I wasn't sure how you'd respond because the sentimental Elaine doesn't come out often on this blog. Virtual hugs for all!

It's been cloudy in L.A. lately. I had to take advantage of the cool air and wore a sweater and boots for the first time in months! Huzzah! But we're in L.A. and Lindsay Lohan made me wear leggings.

One of my biggest splurges were these boots - almost $200. I told you I'm wild. I did get $30 cash back so it's okay, guys. I walked 4 miles in these boots today (because parking in L.A. sucks) and it was like walking on clouds. It was also the worst walk ever. I got 10 cat calls and all the guys were ugly.

Wearing my husband's H&M sweater ($20), Hanes men's t-shirt ($9 for 8-pack), F21 leggings ($5), and Tsubo boots ($190).

I hate those kind of people.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you can make it through a 3 mile trek in those boots!
Just Better Together
Bummer about the rude harassment. Some people are just so rude.
ReplyDeleteAnnoyingness aside, this is a fabulous look. Much cooler than Lindsey Lohan. In fact, I have similar boots and I attempt to recreate this, with some of my husband's clothing (I'm sure he'll love me taking his limited clothing away from him).
hahah well... sorry about that walk... =) I love the outfit though! I think its cute! I like that you wore something a little long with the leggings.. and loose. but not too loose, its cute.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear they're comfortable... I'm amazed!

This looks so cozy and stylish, I want to wear this tomorrow!
ReplyDeletei wish i could actually get away with stealing my hubby's clothes! sadly he is 13inches taller and 115 lbs heavier (and people wonder why i wear 4 inch heels every day!)... i have tried quite a few times and he laughs hysterically
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER, i love getting his old tee's and cutting them up for super cool re-fashions! (tons of free fabric!)
you look freaking cute in everything!
~selina
ughh those are so annoying! Just guys being obnoxious.
ReplyDeleteI really like it! Cute and simple!
That's awful about the walk, but at least you had a cute outfit to make it a little better! I love what you did with this plain white t-shirt. Somehow the white in the middle of all the dark colors really makes a big impact. It's casual but really fashionable. You put together great outfits and I'm always excited to see your new posts!

those boots ARE awesome, and they look like they fit perfectly!
ReplyDeletelolol, Lindsey Lohan made me wear leggings - too funny :)!! Such an easy, great outfit! Love menswear pieces paired with the boots!!
ReplyDeleteSmall Time Style

Great look and you pull off your hubs clothes so well! I'd be swimming if I tried that look. =P Your backlit photos always turn out so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI actually did "LOL" at your mention of Lindsay Lohan making you wear leggings. Awesome boots, too-- I heard Tsubo makes a good boot.
ReplyDeletelove wearing my husbands clothes in winter! Glad I'm not alone.
ReplyDeletep.s. I thoroughly your sarcasm. Remind me of.. me!
ugh i hate those kinds of people--they're SO rude :( this outfit is so comfy looking!
ReplyDeletei never thought of wearing men's tshirt... hmmm!! thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHadn't had a chance to comment on yesterday's post yet, but I love that you share your style, kindness, and humor with us through your blog.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a comfy look. You pull this off very well. Too bad I don't think it's a look everyone (esp me) could pull off without looking a bit bulky. I wish I could see your boots better in these pics tho, since I know you rarely splurge I'm very curious about them. :)
Cute boots! Whoa that's an expensive pair of boots, but at least it's an investment piece :)
ReplyDeleteGood shoes are always an acceptable splurge. I like your boots.
ReplyDeleteYou look so comfortable and cute!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your walk hun, but you look fabulous! Hope you are doing well, im back from fashion week so I can finally catch up on your blog : ) xx

I've been eying Tsubo boots. Are they really that comfy? They look great on you, so maybe I should make a splurge, too?
ReplyDeleteI would wear this outfit everyday if it wasn't for the no leggings rule on campus. poo.
ReplyDeleteyou are so cute. i love how simple and awesome this outfit is!

That is a great outfit. I love baggy top/leggings looks.
ReplyDeleteThe BEST cozy look ever! I really like this, you are adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit. Love the boots!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't la without weirdos hollering at you! Haha I hate when that happens and you're just like "ugh, stop."
ReplyDeleteVery comfy outfit! An outfit like this is a uniform for me during this wet rainy cold weather. Its times like these that I get so lazy and just pull on leggings top and boots!
you are hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteur quick wit always catches me by surprise hahaha
i can see why you got catcalled, i love that outfit! sorry the guys were all ugly : / when i was in LA i only saw hotties! lol
i'm always looking for comfy boots so thank you for the review here!
AND you look great!! now you can include your husband's wardrobe in your wardrobe inventory list! yayyyy hahaa
ReplyDeletexx
leggings as pants? No wonder you got all those cat calls, lainey! not too hot for such wondrous boots?
ReplyDeleteCat calls = woof. Why do guys even do that? I don't think any relationship ever started with a cat call. But this outfit is so chill and cute. Perfect for classes this week...thanks for the inspiration! Great splurge on the boots!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I love the mens Hanes tees.
ReplyDeleteGirl you look so cute and comfy!!! I love it! You're to cute when you smile! :)
ReplyDeleteLove life girl!
sometimes on really ugly, frizzy days, or when i am running a million miles, those cat calls are exactly what i need. nice to know i've always got options. (not really.)
ReplyDeletei love this look...i love boots with leggings
ReplyDeleteIm really picky when it comes to boots, those are really pretty!
ReplyDelete- Fashion Forestry
New comfy boots, what more can a girl ask for?
ReplyDeleteI love Tsubo! I can't believe you walked 4 miles in them - a testament to how comfy those shoes are. I think Tsubo means "pressure points" and the shoes are made to put cushion on the pressure points of your feet to make them extra comfortable.
ReplyDeletehahaha. lindsay lohan made me do it. love!!
ReplyDeletegorgeous outfit Elaine, the leggings are sexy...even though you are totally wrapped in that oversized sweater but you look incredibly hot with those leggings and boots...stunning!!!

those boots are killer! definitely worth the $$.
ReplyDeletealso, i love your comment disclaimer! cracks me up.
love wearing the husbands sweaters and hoodies!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute in this (although I do wish guys would be less vocal about sharing their thoughts - or do it in a more articulate way).
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute! Those boots are awesome. And that is a perfectly reasonable price to pay for good boots! I totally believe in paying for quality footwear. Feet are important! And yours look awful cute in those boots!
ReplyDeleteAwesome boots! You really pulled them off!
