A Little Blue

I forgot to take a picture of what I wore to church on Sunday. We had Stake Conference. It's not an excuse - I'm just sayin'. But I did wear this to a friend's house afterward and it's kinda similar to what I wore earlier but not really.

I broke two of my rules for you guys. One, I wore like-colors together. Two, I wore baggy with baggy (again). It looks like the rebel in me is coming out...or I'm running out of clothes to wear...or my rules don't make sense. But I do like how this turned out...especially since we were running late and I just threw this on without thinking about my stupid rules.

In other news...Chase and I have a working T.V.!!! In the three years we've been married, we never had cable or even public T.V. channels. Our Utah apartment was in a bad location and we weren't going to pay for shows we can watch on Hulu. Now we're real Americans.

  1. lol, I don't really consider those jeans baggy, in google reader there are no photos so after reading the description and seeing the word 'baggy' I was expecting harem pants or something like them. I think you look fabulous though, I love jeans with heels and am a big fan of striped tees!

  2. love the pink shoes and striped tee! totally adorable!

  3. Well I think the rule-breaking worked! I try not to wear similar colors together (ie black shirts with dark jeans), but sometimes it just happens.
"Now we're real Americans." That made me chuckle.

  4. The jeans aren't tight, but the way you roll the hems and the fact are fitted on the waist/hip area, plus the pretty pumps, makes it still look quite polished and balanced. Great outfit.

  5. Those shoes are amazing! I love how they took a fantastic baggy outfit and made the whole look so chic!

  6. Josh and I just got cable for the first time in...ever. Also for the first time ever, we got a little tv in our room! Yikes. It's a little unnverving right now, but I think it'll be good to have so we can cuddle with the little babe when he's here!
ps: yay for breaking your rules, you look super comfy and chic!

  7. I think that the girly shoes and the pearls balance out the slight bagginess of the outfit, and make it look comfortable and stylish.

  8. I really like this! You can pull off baggy clothes. Those pumps are gorgeous.

  9. Elaine, you look so gorgeous! I really love this outfit on you. The jeans look great and I love that you added a pop of color with your shoes!

  10. rules are meant to be broken. .and you look fab and so chic this way. your shoes just give that pop of colour!

  11. I really like how you paired the blue outfit with the purple heels, it just completely jazzed things up! Striped tees can be so versatile sometimes....

  12. Keep breaking those rules, this outfit totally works!
I've never had cable in my life and have an old clunky junky TV with foil covered rabbit ears right now. The internet and Netflix suck up enough of my time; I'd never see the light of day if I got cable!

  13. So you were much more european without TV :) I have no TV for almost 3 months, and before it was for three years, either. Hope you will find time for your blog? :)

  19. i love this look, very casual but chic at the same time with the pearls and heels. omg you guys have tv now? i know how you feel, a couple years ago i didn't have tv and i always felt like i wasn't allowed to talk to anyone. :P i don't have cable now though either but when i had it all i watched were cartoons (for my son) and the cooking channel, which i do kind of miss. but now i just watch tv online too, or off netflix!
ps. is that the entrance to your apartment building? the backdrop looks really nice with all the plants and stuff...i don't know why i noticed that but i did :P

  22. Rules are meant to broken sometimes and I really like the baggy look with the pop of your heels.
We've been without cable now for about 6 months to save a little money and I have to say that I've really enjoyed and my boys are watching less tv. We did this month sign up for Netflixs and well, it's been kind of addicting be able to watch movies or tv series instantly on our Mac. Yikes!!!

  23. Baggy with baggy totally works - it's not as if the tshirt and jeans swamp you and the little touches like the rolled up bottoms and fab heels make it chic rather than slobby :)

  24. I don't hold with rules of any kind (ask my boss!)

Love your outfit - I think you can totally pull off baggy. You look relaxed but put together, like you just threw this together but have natural style. Which is entirely true.

  25. I'm sure your rules make sense, but you do look very nice in the pics.

  26. it's a great look here. style rules broken often work out great.

yay TV! I think there are some great shows on TV now :-)

  27. I think pegging the jeans and wearing heels makes the jeans less baggy. Keep breaking those rules girl. You look great.

  29. so do you like to wear tight jeans all the time? cause I just threw my jeans in the washer and put on my yoga pants. oh. my. gosh. i'd forgotten how nice it is to wear something so comfortable and unrestricting around the waist. your outfit looks real pretty....

  33. I love the striped top! I wish I could pull it off. :)

  34. Elaine--the rolled cuff with the heels is ingenious. As for the TV, that may be a mixed blessing.

  35. You look great as always, Elaine- casual but still stylish and classy. Congrats on the TV! I keep saying I'm going to cancel mine cuz there's too much crap...but I love my cooking shows :)

  37. I just love your shoes. I can't get over it! I think breaking your rules worked out rather well; the baggy and baggy is certainly sport on perfection!

Oh, and I LOVE the shirt with your face on it! That is too funny.

  38. Breaking rules works for you - it's a really cute look! I agree with some of the other comments that I wouldn't really consider those baggy jeans. loose it, yes, but they look very clean and tailored on you.

And I love the color of those heels!

  39. You are such a rebel!! And your pink shoes are too cool for school.
These pics are beautiful, by the way.

And, we had to get cable because that's where the english channels are, haha :) I think we were used to not watching it though because we don't turn it on very often
