Family Time

Sunday, October 24, 2010
This weekend some of Chase's family came by to see our new place and to make sure we haven't been robbed or shot. Kidding. Our area's pretty safe besides that fist fight we saw a couple nights ago by the bumpin' Asian club next door. It was really nice to see his family again. As you know, after our Philippines trip this past summer we stayed with Chase's parents until we got settled in L.A. We lived like babies...and it was awesome.

(Please note:  Though it may look like I am, I am NOT pregnant. I just ate a little too much, okay?)

I wanted a casual and comfortable look...and boyfriend jeans were key. Normally, I would go for the fitted-baggy combo and wear a fitted shirt with these jeans but sometimes it's fun to break your own rules...or I ran out of fitted-shirts to wear.

  32. Isn't seeing family you haven't seen in awhile the absolute best!? :) :) We're going to get to see both of our sets of parents this weekend and I am so excited. Also love your earrings... I feel like you don't wear them a ton.. or maybe I just suck at being observant? But they look really pretty here :)

  37. Yay for family! It's so wonderful that they live near by (and so nice of them to let you stay with them until y'all got settled). Sounds like you have some terrific family and social support :) And your look is so perfect for hanging with the fam. Comfy and casual, but the shoes with rolled jeans take the casual look to another level.

  38. Those mary janes are amazing.

I have a white shirt that makes me look preggers. It's embarrassing (for them) when people ask. Please tell me nobody asked your lovely thin self if you were with child...

  47. OMG, I love your shoes. Looked all over the internet for them and can't find them anywhere. Aero does not carry the pants anymore either. Im sad! Love you site!

  48. I loveee your roll ups, theyre adorable
And they never seem to come out looking that great on me!

  49. I think the loose top and pants work on you because you have such a small frame. On a bigger girl (like me), she would look fat or pregnant.

An no, I'm not indulging in self-pity or fishing for compliments... I'm just observant and analytical.

That outfit makes me think of a day at the beach... you toss the top and jeans over your swimsuit after coming out of the water. Then toss on that light cardi as you're watching the sunset.

Mmmm... I miss the beaches of Lake Michigan (I moved away)
