What I wore...some time ago somewhere

Not really sure when or for what I wore this. But I did...sometime somewhere...like on this couch.

The trendy chambray/denim shirts are slowly melting away but I still love 'em. Trends come and go so don't let that influence your shopping decisions. Buy what you love and not only what Forever 21 and H&M say are cool...but when they're sequin flats for $5, you should probably get them...and give 'em to me. What trends have you bought into that you regret now?

  2. I try to stay away from awkward trend driven items, keeping it simple and timeless u know? just like u do! i don't think the denim shirt is going to go out of style here tho, classic americana is making a big comeback! love the bib necklace with it!

  7. Denim shirts might not be a current runway trend, but if an item fits me and makes me feel put together I will wear it anyway.

  9. You are the queen of the chambray shirt. There, I said it. I'm so jealous that you can wear it a bunch of times, but it never gets old.

  10. that chambray is a classic so i don't think it'll ever grow old :) i try not to follow trends too closely since i'm not one to break out of my comfort zone

  11. Hm, I know I regret some trends, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I will think of something when I go and try to figure out what to wear. AH! I know, almost skin tight shirts when I was in high school. Blah.

  12. Actually, chambray is all the rage right now. Denim shirts can be found in nearly every store from Urban Outfitters and the Gap to Tory Burch and Burberry. Your shirt is fabulous and despite the trend, it will be a timeless classic in your already smashing wardrobe!

  13. you are cute. one time my mom convinced me to get this faux fur white jacket from a thrift store that i was iffy about, and then later i was like ugh why did i buy this!? good thing it was only 5 bucks haha.

  14. I think denim shirts come and go, trend-wise. I remember it was in a couple years ago and then it wasn't anymore. I (stupidly) Goodwilled it then and now regret it. I don't know if I should shop around for another one or just live with this mistake (as a lesson, of course).

Holy moly, your jeans are pricey. I used to buy expensive designer jeans until ... Levi's introduced their new line, Curve ID! Fits better than my Seven jeans and they're at a great price ($60!). Check it out. I think they're a lifesaver to all the petite Asians out there!

  15. I try not to follow trends. I have to dress to suit my body shape and lately alot of the trends don't work for me... or just aren't my style. Definitely wear what works for you! :)

  16. I think the biggest shopping regrets I have are thrifting decisions. Sometimes I go crazy for a second and think something will look awesome....and then I end up just looking like an old lady.

  17. i really liked the whole clueless pleated plaid skirt with knee high stockings look of 1995. and when i tried to keep wearing it in 1996, one of my friends let me know that my single handed resurrection of it wasn't working. sad day.

  18. I think the chambray shirt is a classic piece that you can hold onto for a very long time! I plan on carrying mine through fall and winter if I can.

  19. can i just take a moment to DIE over your bangs! they are literally perfect.. got to admit... i have wanted to rock cool bangs for a while... not possible with my stupid cowlick... i have tried, it was disasterous.

i mostly regret NOT buying things or giving away stuff that comes back in style.

    i guess i regret 90's chokers... bleegh!

  20. I had butterfly hair clips with wings that moved.
Actually, I don't regret them, they were awesome.

I do regret wearing my hair up in chopsticks for 3 years straight, and that wasn't really a trend, it was just my thing.

  21. I still like chambray shirts, even though the irony is I haven't gotten one yet. Your necklace is lovely and I still adore those sequin flats! I regret buying a lot of things, most of them impulse buys, but I think it's kind of like trial and error, for me at least.

  32. I love your blog. I was looking through old posts and saw some background that looked very familiar. I used to walk past the architecture building everyday at the U. I love the pictures on campus, they are so pretty and they make me miss being a college student. You are so inspiring... I think I might start my own modest fashion blog now.
