Stripes, Friend and Foe

Saturday, September 11, 2010
We went to a Korean BBQ restaurant with some friends tonight and I needed something that would transition from day to the chilly night (and to stuff my face). The boyfriend jeans worked for the stuffing of the face but not the stripes....such a horrible choice, I know. But it went so well with the outfit that I figured if I sucked my tummy in for a little, the food baby would go away. It didn't...which is why I'm hunched over.

I thought of this outfit in 5 minutes. I was giddy all day. I should also mention that it took me an hour of indecision before I came up with it. Still. It was a proud moment for me.

  3. You always look so polished, even when you're casual. Wish I could pull that off.

  4. This is an outfit that my mom would call 'the best because it's the simplest.' Hahaha and I say this as a full compliment-- I love stripes!

Also, what a neat little feature with the Shopstyle thingamajigger...

  7. You look very laid back, West coast cool. For reals.
Also, I want to stuff myself with Korean BBQ. My Blokey is a vegetarian, so I'll have to rope in some work colleagues.

  9. I'm amazed of how you can make basic outfits become so chic when you put them together... I love how you combine the stripes tee with the blazer, and that you rolled up your jeans. It's just so... pretty :)

  11. I love that your so honest about your indecision. So many people say they 'just threw it on'! It looks very nice and polished but perfectly casual for the activity of 'stuffing of the face'!

  18. Isn't it hilarious (in hindsight, not at the time!) how it can take you an hour of going through outfits to come up with one in five minutes that is adorable? I did that the other day. But it payed off, I loved my outfit and so did everyone else. I received so many compliments all day! People are so nice.

  23. This outfit looks great on you! Btw, do you have any recommendations as to where I can find a black blazer ($cheap)? The ones at Forever 21 and H&M the sleeve it either too short on my arms or when I go a size up, the sleeve length fits, but everywhere else gets to wide :(
