I'm so sorry I misled some of you to think I was pregnant in my last post. That was cruel. The answer: I am not. If I were, you would all be the first to know...possibly before Chase...because he doesn't believe me when I say I think I'm pregnant when I want to throw up...or when I feel sick...or have a headache...or want ice cream now.

Interestingly enough, this looks a lot like this outfit. I guess I inspire myself sometimes! (Ha ha.) I just love the orange-yellow color combo. Naturally, I had to add blue into the mix. I was a little wary of pairing my blue jeans with the blue sequin flats (I have a thing about pairing like colors together.) but my shoe selection is limited.

Wearing DIY flower necklace ($3), Gap dress-now-shirt ($7), secondhand BDG jeans ($17), Report flats ($14), and thrifted quilted purse ($4).

Chase and I went to Venice Beach today because we're fun and spontaneous. (No, we're not.) We tried the Korean BBQ tacos that we've been hearing good things about. It.was.delicious!!! It totally lives up to the hype. You gotta try it.

ah venice beach and i honestly really like the shirt now. and those jeans are great. if i looked good in jeans i would wear those. if they looked good?? ha
i love how you style up the red top with the yellow flower necklace! :)
This combination is perfect! Just the right amount of detail to spruce up a casual weekend outfit. Love it.
...Although how did you survive in jeans with this terrible heat wave?! It was over 100 out east of LA. I couldn't even handle going outside, much less in pants.
I like the dress to shirt look!
I always feel like I have no clothes... then my sister reminds me that I have a closet bursting with them.
I like to live in denial.
Love your DIY flower necklace! It's refreshing to see something like this. Also, cute shoes girl!
Love the necklace. It really stands out.

These pics turned out so well! I did the same thing with a dress that I didn't wear that much..probably only twice or so..
And I'm in looooove with your sequin flats!

Love the new top, and you made me hungry I think I might have to try that one time.
So cute! I think I have the same Gap dress but in green. Its too short to be a dress and too long to be a shirt, so maybe I should do what you did :)
oh such a cool outfit!you are simple and beautiful, elaine!
I love this simply yet stylish and vibrant look on you!

Oooh love the outfit, I wouldn't even have know that was a dress before :)

I love your necklace. Everytime I see it on your blog I think WOW its so beautiful. I like everything about your outfit and the necklace against something casual works well. I like your jeans because of the fit. I don't have a good pair of jeans that fit well so thats why I hardly ever wear jeans.
The whole outfit looks so comfy and casual... very nice =)
I love this outfit - the shoes are adorable ! :)
Love the flower necklace!
You look great--the dress became a really nice top. I've only seen Venice Beach on TV and in movies. If we ever get there I'll remember to try the tacos. =)
Nice modifications :) I think the dress look great as a top :) And I still adore that necklace.

I LIVE for Venice Beach! Never eaten there, though...I'll mos def follow your suggestion next time I'm there.
random, but you have incredibly straight posture. i'm jealous!
and i love the new top--i wish i could be as impulsive and cut things up to make new things!
Yum! I knew people would think you were knocked up in your last post but I got it! I love that you're not to cute to show a pic of you stuffing your face! LOL
In a couple of you pic's it looks like you have a young stalker in the back ground..... :)
I really like what you did with your dress ~ now shirt! The raw hem does look great, I agree.
I'm glad I'm not the only inspired by myself, haha. "Oh goodness Ali, you are so clever, how ever are you so clever? Ohohoho." Hehe.
Your ex-dress is very cute on you, and I very much like the rolled up bottom on it. :)
&& ohmygosh! I agree with the above! Yellow shirt stalker, haha.
I love the color combination. You look great!
you look adorable. The shirt is awesome, especially with the raw hem.
clothes are cute
Those taco's sound yummy! I thought that it was cute that you mentioned when you are mommy you'll need right kind of shoes. :) I always try to wear my heels though. lol
I love those flats, I want them ASAP!!! And just to read about the tacos made me hungry...
haha. we're "fun and spontaneous" as well. hahaha. looking fab as always, babe!
I love your shoes! Your outfit is so simple and cute!

I never even thought to just hack off the bottom of a dress, I totally want to do that now ^_^
That necklace is beautiful! You look so young, pretty, and fresh!

Great flowers!
So awesome to see someone else who doesn't mind messing things up a bit!!! My friends think I'm nuts for altering everything, but I just can't help it...I've never been able to leave things alone, even if they're perfect as they are! You look adorable...
I just had Korean BBQ for the first time last week.... it was amazing!! I would love to try the tacos. Cute DIY necklace! Yes, I've definitely seen it before :)

LOVE The necklace!! cutie!!
your necklace is absolutely fabulous!
nice bag!
Cute! I love rolled hems too for some reason...they're nice and casual.
I can relate on the whole "I-have-absolutely-no-clothes" feeling. Ugh. That's precisely why I chopped up that pair of jeans and refashioned them into shorts. Cheaper than buying new shorts and I'll actually wear these much more often than I wore them as jeans.
I really like the yellow flower and coral top combo you've got going on. I love yellow and coral together. :) So simple and so chic.

You are so pretty, Elaine! I love the flower necklace and those flats!!
SO cute!!!! ;D
I love the dress made top -- are their enough left overs to become a skirt?
I think it's okay to wear the sequined flats with everything, they are pretty much a neutral now, i think.
Chic on the Cheap
mmm, i love food pics! you are so creative...i need to get more sewing time in!
It was such a great dress, but I still love its color and the combination with the flowers. Gotta do it someday, haha :)
LOVE your necklace, and the colour looks so lovely with the coral.
this look is way cute :) way to bust out the scissors!
This is a little piece of fantastical around your neck! So pretty. I envy!
Even though your outfit is simple, I still like it. It's somewhat very homey and very casual. Love your flower necklace - they're so cute!
