I found this cute bohemianish dress a couple of days ago at Ross and had to get it. It was the last one...on sale...in my size. That's a sign, right? When I was trying to figure out my three outfits, these four came to my mind. I wanted to show you the outfit-picking process and my thinking behind it all....because my husband is tired of me talking to him like he's my girlfriend.
Look 1
This was the first outfit that popped into my head when I saw this dress. I don't want to carry around a hat all day while I'm out with my MIL and SIL so this outfit is out.

Wearing F21 hat ($4), One Clothing dress ($12), and Wal-Mart gladiators ($5).
Look 2
I liked the idea of pairing my gold gladiators with the blue dress. I added the white belt because I feel it went with the white embroidery and the gold clasp tied it into the shoes too. But these cheap gladiators are not comfy so this is out too.

Wearing One Clothing dress ($12), thrifted Anne Klein belt ($1), and Old Navy gladiators ($7).
Look 3
My husband liked this look best. I think it's cute too but we'll be walking a lot today and these shoes are comfy for a few hours but after that I start getting blisters. This will have to be saved for another day.

Wearing One Clothing dress ($12), rope belt (from my MIL), and Seychelles maryjanes ($15).
Look 4
This is my favorite. It is comfy because of my sequin flats (Yay...I'm wearing them again..). And I've been loving this camel belt lately. I was a little wary about it because sequins don't go with a bohemianish embroidered dress but that is also why I like it.

Wearing One Clothing dress ($12), thrifted camel belt ($1), and F21 flats ($5).
Which one is your favorite?
I think Im with your husband on this one... Although #1 is a close second! Love the dress...
ReplyDeletewhat a great find at ross of all places! having it only in your size was DEF a sign.

i love the embroidery on this dress. what a fun post girl!
ReplyDeleteOh I love them all! The dress is just gorgeous - I want one!
ReplyDeleteGeez those pumps are getting around everywhere :P I would go with the last outfit too, I like the brown belt and think the pumps go well :)
ReplyDeleteL x
I love all these looks! Thanks for showing how versatile a single dress can be with different accessories.
ReplyDeleteI love your looks, the first one and the third one are my faves! =) It's great to see what goes into picking your outfits!
ReplyDeleteIt's always interesting knowing the thought process behind a look! this dress is so versatile and i'm going to have to go with number one as my favorite look! number three is a close second :)
ReplyDeleteThat dress is adorable on you!
ReplyDeleteI'm with your hubby, the third look is the cutest. Really love how you paired the heels with the string belt; chic and relaxed. But you know your feet best, wise decision! His pick will just have to wait till next date night!
ReplyDeleteLove the new dress.
ReplyDeleteI like the 3rd and 4th looks that best.
It will be a great addition to your closet.
Can't wait to see it again!
xxL
Ross is probably my favorite store (other than thrift stores). I like all of them - especially the one your hubby liked. I really liked the first one too though. Such a cute dress!
ReplyDeletei can't believe you got that dress for $12! so jealous, that is such a steal!! it's fabulous! i love the first look.
ReplyDeleteI love all the looks, but my favorite is #1! There's just something about not having access to my hats (because of moving) that makes me want them to be incorporated into every outfit!
ReplyDeleteI like look 2 best, because I love the white belt. Super cute dress. Have a lovely evening.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Karlee Kay
I like #2 the best, but you don't want to spend too much in uncomfortable shoes. That dress is very cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your find. Never had any luck at Ross. TJMaxx was always my discount designer soulmate when I lived in the States.
ReplyDeleteI'm really digging all these looks. Great stuff. And I can't believe those first gladiators are from WalMart, of all places. Seriously cute.

i truly like them all, each carries a different attitude but if I had to choose it would be #4 with #3 coming in at a close second. However you choose to wear the dress will be super cute!
ReplyDeleteclothes are cute
clothes are cute
#1 is my favorite =)
ReplyDeleteand what's your nail polish color??? i'm looking for something similar to that but everything i find is ehhh
Outfit-wise, I like #1. But as you pointed out, "looking at" is a completely different thing from "walking around in". So, Elaine-wise, I pick #4 because it's the most comfortable. =)
ReplyDeleteHey Elaine. Your third look is my fave. BTW, glad to see that you proudly inform that you're LDS. Some people have the misconception that us LDS wear long sleeves and pants or skirts that cover our legs!

Lovely dress. I love the Look 1 and 2 the most. :) More of the flats girl but if I were to wear heels with your outfit id wear it with a black vest and then ankle boots. Rocker chic look. :) Hahaha. there you go another look for ya! :)
ReplyDeletelove all the looks..its so adorable!!
ReplyDeletexx
they are all cute, but 1 and 3 are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your husband - I like look #3. That rope belt is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely dress! At such a good price, too! I'm liking the last look (#4), it's so pretty. Or at least that's how I would wear it myself. I love it with those flats!
ReplyDeleteCute dress girl :)
ReplyDeleteYou need to start buying better shoes is what I need to say. Girl, if you can't troop across city wearing a pair of shoes without getting blisters, you gotta get rid of the shoes, no matter how cute!!
ReplyDeletelove all 4!!! i like the last two best and i'm going to figure out how you tie your belts!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the first, perhaps because of the hat.
ReplyDeleteI also feel that when I encounter the trifecta (only one left, in my size, and on sale) it is a sign that I should not ignore.
Chic on the Cheap
love this piece, its great you can wear it in so many different ways. I love it with the leather belt.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is so nice.It goes along really well with any footwear. The 3rd one's the best for and then 2nd outfit comes next.
ReplyDeleteThe last look is definitely my favorite. That dress was really a score!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress and what a steal. For someone who doesn't like to shop, you can find some great bargains! I think I like your first look best - the hat just adds a little something!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! It's fun seeing how people can remix an item. The first outfit is my favorite. It's so perfectly casual for a hot day.
ReplyDeleteI really like all of them, but especially that last one because of your flats! I have a feeling that dress will be extremely versatile for you. Hooray for awesome purchases!
ReplyDeleteI love look one, that hat is perfect and makes the outfit look so efortless.
ReplyDeletei love every look and your dress is so pretty, i want it!
ReplyDeleteCute dress... I love the first and 3rd look :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the looks you created with your latest find, but simply adore the dress with the hat in look #1. Perfection!
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to mention!
ReplyDeleteMay I have permission to use your look 4 on this post on my feature titled My Favorite Looks of the Week. I like to ask permission before I use someone's images. You can comment on my blog: afewsillylittlethings.blogspot.com or email me at thesillylittlethings@gmail.com. Thanks so much.

That dress is seriously wonderful. I love the white detailing. Where did you get the Seychelles maryjanes in look 3 for $15?! They're adorable!
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's a toss-up between Looks 2 and 3, but they're all quite nice.

Wow I love how you remixed the dress in four different ways! It truly is versatile :) Plus you can wear it as a top or use the skirt too! I can't believe you found that at Ross!
ReplyDeleteI try to talk about my sartorial decisions with my husband too and I'm pretty sure his mind starts to wander over to things like motorcycles and hockey. ::sigh:: Thank goodness he's cute. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I just bought a pair of Doc Marten's at Ross for $20. Sometimes I get very luck there.
Cute dress, perfect for the summer heat.
i agree with your husband, i like look three the best. this dress is so simple but pretty! it's all in the details.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you...LOOK 4! I LOVE the fact that you're mixing a bohemian dress with sequins flats. Looks fabulous, go for it! ;)
ReplyDeleteCute Elaine! Every one of them is darling!

This dress is such a great find and looks so great on you! I love this 'four outfits' idea and really shows how you can make one piece of clothing look so versatile.
ReplyDeleteI like the look your husband likes (how's that for alliteration?), but think the last look would be best!

I love all the looks but I think comfy shoes count the most if you´re going to do a lot of walking. So #4 is for me!
ReplyDeleteADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteI like both look three and four. This is a very lovely dress and it's awesome that there are so many ways to style it.
ReplyDeleteChristy of Dress Rehearsal
Adorable! Each look is cuter than the next.
ReplyDeleteI adored Chase's choice, plus you look prettier in the third picture (maybe it's because the photographer was more inspired, huh?). Number one and two also got me, I loved them.
ReplyDeletexoxo
This dress was meant to be yours :) I really like your Wal-mart sandles! The Old Navy, I have to agree with you, they hurt. I returned mine. I find ON as a hit-miss place for sandals/shoes.
ReplyDelete@lid0linda/Linda Mai Hi Linda Mai! I actually combined white and red nail polish together that I wasn't using anymore. I was going for a pale pink but I poured too much red in and got this bright pink. I love it!
ReplyDeletei agree with you!! i absolutely love your fourth outfit. something about the sequin flats/camel belt really works/pulls the whole thing together :)
ReplyDeletedefinitely a sign - look 3 is my favourite
ReplyDeletedon't take this the wrong way, but these looks are quite similar. try styling it in a totally different way, don't be afraid to experiment! I'm sure those floral leggings would look great on you too ;)
ReplyDeleteLol, I have the exact same sandals as in the first picture. For such cheap ones, they've lasted me quite a long time and they're still going strong! I love the dress. I like it best with the white belt and the rope belt.
ReplyDeletelook 4 is my absolute favorite. love the belt and shoes!

Wow, what a lovely dress!!
ReplyDelete1 and 3.
ReplyDeleteGreat looks. I love all of them (it was clearly meant to be).
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! I have a very similar dress, so I'm excited to see some new ideas for it. Well done!
ReplyDeletethe first look is totally my fave!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute dress!!
Love the dress. The embroidery is gorgeous! I agree with your husband!

I love how you showed all the looks in one post. Very nice. :)
ReplyDeleteYour dress is so lovely. I like it each way!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is sooo pretty!!!! and your shoes too!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the first one the most! Though I do know what you mean about hats. I can't imagine not taking one off indoors and stuff. weird.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great dress and I'm sure it's breezier than any short shorts!
ReplyDeleteCute! I love all these looks. One boho dress can go a long way! In the second picture, it actually looks black... it seems like a versatile piece! Never thought of pairing a boho silhouette with sequins... hmm...
ReplyDeleteOk so im not buying anything, but i was looking at your photos and you are freakishly beautiful....ok bye now
ReplyDeleteso adorable e! as always! i love #1 best. it's so cool and carefree looking.
