Get your red, white, and blue on.

Sunday, July 04, 2010
I've already worn this but with a different skirt here. But since it was our country's day of independence, I figured I could kind-of-sort-of repeat my outfit for the sake of the red, white, and blue. Did you wear our country's colors today? ...or is it too cheesy and patriotic?

Chase's family is on a cruise right now for a week...and we are here. House-sitting...two houses. His parents left us a long list of things to get done around the house while they are gone so, yes, we will be having a huge party some time this week. And you're all invited. Bathing suits are optional.

Random trip picture of the day:
Batad, Philippines. Those rice terraces are for real....and not for the weak-hearted. That is the place we stayed at. We had to hike a mile just to get to our room! Okay, it wasn't a mile. It was a few flights of steps.

  1. What a perfectly elegant blouse! The deep rich color of that blue is perfect for being patriotically dressed. :) I don't think that being cheesy on this day is bad at all-- after all, what other day can you easily get away with dressing to the nines in America's colors?

  3. You look so so so gorgeous! I don't wear red, white, and blue... but I work at a clothing store and quite a few people came in today looking for those colors. haha. So it's alright.

  4. Those rice terraces are beautiful! (As well as your very patriotic outfit, haha.) I've been wanting to see them for forever, but they're about a 10 hour drive from where my family lives in the Philippines. Talk about about a bummer.

  20. I've been confused for a couple days thinking "Where are the full outfit photos?" I guess I'm not too observant.
Lovely ensemble. The blouse is darling.

  37. That blouse looks so good on you. Great cut, great color. Yes, dressing up is cheesy AND patriotic of which I am nerdily both. Plus, it's my favorite color combo. I've been dressing up in these colors everyday for over a week.

am wear blue and white with red/white/blue accesories right now as we virtually speak. gotta stop soon; it's an obseesion.

  38. You look adorable and definitely not cheesy. Cheesy is an oversized tee shirt with a flag on it that says 'american pride' or something like that with faded cutoffs. Your look is all class.

  44. Hi Elaine, I started reading your blog awhile ago and just wanted to say I love all your outfits - you always look so well put together. I was wondering if the Hanes white tshirt you wear is the men's or women's v-neck? I don't know if there's really a difference?
