Denim on Denim

I was a little skeptical about blue denim together but now I know if done right (like me, obvi) it's awesome. This was inspired by Erin....because she's awesome.

So no bruises today but I still feel like I just had a nose job... Like my face needed to be any flatter!

I love this look! I wore denim on denim earlier this week... I think the look done right can look great!

i love it- i know i could never pull off denim-on-denim, but you look great, as always (:
so glad you're not bruised!

Those wedges look great! They look like Gladiator sandals. I still have to buy myself a pair.
What Not to Wear actually didn't like denim on denim. I sure do disagree! It can be cool if you do it right.

It's almost workman-inspired, I like it! I think you pulled it off nicely. :) The blue of the pool matches, but I was afraid you'd fall off when I saw the picture!

As for jet lag... yes, it IS quite annoying. At least it lets me sleep relatively early since I'm so dead tired by then...

Oooo you did it so right. I love this look on you. If the shoes were red it would be a perfect 4th of July outfit.

I think you pulled this off quite nicely. Not everyone can do it, but you have successfully executed it.

you're definitely rocking the denim on denim :)

i like the d.o.d. (as a friend of mine used to call denim on denim), especially with this shirt (which if you ever get sick of, PLEASE send my way!!).

RicAdeMus said...

It looks great--not cowboy-ish at all! But something about you looks different. Different make-up??? Maybe it's the time in the pool. =)

I've been thinking about rocking the D-on-D, so I've been hunting for the perfect top. I think one of the keys is skinnies. I really think it looks best with fitted bottoms.

I think you carry off the denim on denim look perfectly! And ouch! I'm glad you don't have any face bruises.

Wow this looks amazing! I'm loving the denim on denim look, especially since it's two different shades of blue!

Charlie said...

looks really good, way to go!

Alex said...

I think this is about the only way double denim works - it has to be different shades of blue. Looks lovely on you :)

eek said...

I'm liking this look!

Kelly @ blackdog finds said...

You look fab! I think what makes this so successful (apart from getting 2 different shades of denim to match) is the modern cut of the jeans and shirt paired with some kicka$$ shoes. I'm taking stock of all the lovely style bloggers doing the d.o.d (to steal from Tania's comment) to possibly venture into that realm myself.

I haven't yet tried the denim on denim - I still have a mental block in re to it. But every time I see it on someone (like you), it looks really stylish. Maybe I just need the right top.

very good combination.
One lighter than the other so it doesn't really look like you're wearing just one denim piece.
