Just checking to make sure no one is watching me taking pictures in public... How vain are we [fashion bloggers]?!? Answer: we're not that vain.... ;)

This look today was inspired by Ascot Friday in her outfit here. I've been waiting sooo long to wear it! Looks like Utah finally decided to catch up with the rest of the world and start spring. Please no more snow. Please no more snow.

I just ate an entire row of Oreos (again) and am now getting ready for aerobics. I'm scared. Melissa totally kills us each time.

Wearing maroon scarf (gift from T), Hanes tee (free), Old Navy belt ($10), Aeropostale jeans ($20), and secondhand wedges ($7).
love it. because of you i went to old navy... and i found something i love! so excited! when is our sushi date?
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of this outfit, and those rockin' shoes!
ReplyDeleteI totally have that same look over my shoulder to scan for onlookers...I'm so secretive about my photo sessions, ha.
Haha.. hey! At least we're not flaunting our sexuality! We're not only feeding our somewhat existing vanity, but we're also helping people be more fashion conscious :)
ReplyDeleteLove your posts, Elaine!
love how casual and cool you look here. its making me want to try this look for myself.
ReplyDeleteI always check for people watching too when I take pictures! Especially if it's just me and my tripod - then that looks EXTRA vain. But I'm much more comfortable if a person is shooting the pictures : )
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with the row of Oeros! It takes a real woman to be able to down that much chocolate and creme : ) By the way, do you like the mint ones? Those are my favorite! Although double stuffed is always a good choice too.
I really like this outfit. I feel like it is something that I could "pull off." I'm also gearing up for aerobics. Hoping for an easy workout...if such things exist anymore :)
ReplyDeletehaha I had an audience yesterday taking the photos I just put up. My neighbor across the street was out and I feel like I could feel him looking at what I was doing. p.s. we're not that friendly with them which made me feel even more awkward, but whatevss!
ReplyDeletecute outfit btw! love your shoes!
The rolled jeans and the shoes are awesome. it's nice to have a fairly basic outfit with the detail on the feet to weigh it down. I like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteI love those jeans on you. So flattering!
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing shoes. And I loved the look of the pegged jeans. Another simple, elegant and perfect outfit.
ReplyDeleteomg looooove those shoes!
ReplyDeletehehehehe... were not that vain ... lol. i like ure excuse!
ReplyDeleteI'm digging the whole androgynous feel of this look with the fabulous wedges!
ReplyDeletesundry.elements
simple & chic. love it!
ReplyDeleteWhen I hear "ascot" I think Fred on Scooby Doo.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely not Fred, thank goodness!
HAHA I always get a little paranoid when taking outfit pictures in public! Love the rolled up jeans!
ReplyDeletevery cute outfit!
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean! lol... my husband loves to tease me and sometimes when he catches me taking pictures of myself he starts singing "you're so vain". Yep. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, you look great btw! I love the casual tee and pegged jeans.
-Megan
know what? i was just taking photos of myself outside our house this morning and felt self-conscious, afraid that our neighbors would see me...LOL.
ReplyDeletegreat simple chic outfit!
♥ vanilla ice cream ♥
Those shoes are awesome - and those are the perfect slightly-slouchy BF jeans that still really flatter.
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally agree - most fashion bloggers are so NOT vain. I have enough trouble taking pics inside the house (a controlled environment). I'd never get anything done outdoors!
I like the jeans and the wedges are fantastic. You are also inspiring me to try tucking in my shirts for a longer leg look.
ReplyDeleteYour outfits are always refreshing to look at and wonderful inspiration. You look so pretty too haha! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!
I get so easily embarrassed when having mini photoshoots in public! I'm always so impressed when I see your outfits shots on campus. I still haven't worked up the nerve.
ReplyDeleteAnd, well, my tripod and camera would be stolen if I tried to do that in downtown Atlanta near school.
elaine, i love your blog! but did you change something in the last two days that makes your posts not show up (in full) on google reader? could you change it back?
ReplyDeleteps you are gorgeous!

It takes a brick wall, a cute girl and a nice and simple (in terms of the used items) outfit to rock my world. Well done, Elaine :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit, love how "clean" each clothing is. Your style isn't minimalistic-minimalistic, but to me it tends to that side - I noticed that you don't like too many accesories, just basics: bag, shoes, maybe a belt , scarf or hat - but never all together; almost no jewelerry. And you keep them very simple and down-to earth. I'm not comfortable with a lot of accesories on me too (Althought i would love to force myself into bigger experiments there..) Probably that's why I can easily imagine every your outfit on me and love your blog =)
ReplyDeleteWow you really rock that outfit, I mean it is simple but I love how you carry it :) It looks so fabulous on you :) You carry it very well!
ReplyDeletegreat look, simply and elegant!!

Love the jeans! The rolled-up look is so casual and chic - and paired with the sandals, it's a perfect combination.
ReplyDeleteOh and re: Christina Hendricks, I know it's hard to believe but I'm sure there are some idiots out there who don't understand her divine appeal. ;)

Just a casual look but you styled it sooo well! And I just started taking pics of myself so I totally know what you mean about posing and feeling embarrassed. Sometimes I feel like my friends think I am so vain by having a fashion blog but then I get one that thanks me because she never thought to belt this or wear that together and it makes my day:)

ReplyDeletei say fashion bloggers are brave -- brave men and women who choose to document and share their clothing aesthetic despite what strangers might think of them. i think that's something to celebrate!
