There are a few things I would have liked to change about this outfit today. I wish I had a cropped moto jacket. I wish I had a poofier skirt. I wish my denim shirt didn't show so much boobage - I'll have to redo that later. I'm not bitter - I just have a few new things to shop for now ;).

I just bought this bag from Old Navy for our PI trip. I love the vibrant color. Lately, everything I've bought has been for our PI trip... :D

Wearing Collection B faux leather jacket ($55), thrifted Gap shirt ($4), Old Navy skirt ($8), Target tights (gift from my SIL), and thrifted boots ($8).

the skirt looks great! love the color of the bag too ;)

I feel like this too lately! I wish x, y, and z pieces from my closet were different in this slight way.
ReplyDeleteLove your blouse!
ReplyDeleteMan, I cannot tell you how many items in my closet I wish were shorter/loser/longer/shinier/etc. I really need to just pull out my sewing machine and go to town on all my hemlines I feel.
ReplyDeleteI love your denim shirt.
Can I suggest something? I've found that if a shirt makes me look to big up top, and it buttons, I just un button all of the top ones until its not so tight! I don't think yours is too tight, but if you do thats something that helps. Have an awesome day! And you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteyour outfit looks great!
ReplyDeletebut yeah i always have a never ending wishlist of wants to both my current clothes as well as wanting new stuff.
You look great no matter what you had preferred this outfit to look like more!
ReplyDeletefunny about the chambray shirt, I wished mine was a tad more fitted... hhmm
xo
Wow, what a background in your pics!!! And your outfit, lovely as allways!!!
ReplyDeletecute outfit, i love those boots!
ReplyDeleteyay for wishlists!!!
ReplyDeletei keep forgetting to ask for recommendations for HK, I'd recommend going to victoria park, hong kong island and kowloon/tsim sha tsui for shopping! also going to the harbor at night to see the lights the skyline has... it's really interesting.
i wish i had your denim shirt :P
ReplyDeleteYou think that shows boobage? Elaine, you're reminding me of my mom in the sense that she obsessively worries about showing boobage. Not her, persay, but that worry transfers to me in an Asian fury. "CHARLENE IS THAT YOU BREAST SHOWING?!"
ReplyDeleteOh, Mom. I happen to think you look modestly delightful.
Toast with Charmalade
I think the proportions of your outfit are just fine, but I get what you mean with wishful thinking! It's good to keep a list...I've been trying to so I do less random shopping and more "useful" shopping.
ReplyDeleteyou aren't showing too much boobage!! haha i would know, i'm the queen of too much boobage, i can't even tell you how many things i've wanted to buy and didn't because of boobage. gotta love being a girl!
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of the jacket with those pretty lace tights.
ReplyDeleteAlso your hair looks adorable!
these shots are lovely. In addition to your fantastic outfit, I also like the flag and mountains in the background and how the shots are composed.
ReplyDeleteIt happens to me all the time with my jackets. They are al too long and now cropped looks better.

wish i could attend the blog meetup! :|
ReplyDeletei like the background. makes me hate LA just a bit.
i love the peeking lace!
I love a bright bag! the lace tights are such a cute contrast to the heavy materials.
ReplyDeleteI think you have a great outfit! It looks casual, relaxed, and well-put together. Also, it's cool that you're changing it up with your hair! =)
ReplyDeleteNa, forget the boobage thing...you just look awesome. The skirt is fine, as is the jacket...the only thing i do worry a bit about is the colour of the shoes...in my humble opinion, the contrast is to hart...but you look great anyway, so forget about the shoes :)
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely not too much boobage showing! If you're worried about it, could you pop a strappy top underneath for added coverage?
ReplyDeleteLove the tights and boots combo :)
but I must say that ur hair looks great with that wavy look still!!
ReplyDeletexxx
Boobage? Where?
ReplyDeleteI like it. Wish I could see the bag better though.
I am actually quite a big fan of that skirt!
ReplyDeleteSB
I know we are usually our own critic, but I personally don't think you need to change a thing about this look. I really love your jacket!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for the hints about your hair. If I ever decide to grow mine out, I know what to do!
I judge my own outfits too much as well (if I only had this ... or that ...) but I think you look great with what you've got.
ReplyDeleteIf I do have a big trip coming up, I do find myself "stocking" up on stuff I need for the trip like Clothes, like suddenly all the stuff in my closet just won't work or something. :o)
It looks like a beautiful day! I miss seeing mountains as part of my daily scenery.
hi elaine,i also always have so many cloths which too big, too long and anything that is not suit me. i used to go to tailor ti fix it, but after i am able to sew, it do it by my self..
ReplyDeletelove the lace tight..
I love that colourful bag Elaine! And your tights are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou mix blacks and browns so effortlessly, lady!
ReplyDeleteI think you look great!!! I love the top pleating of the skirt.
ReplyDeleteI am teased by the pink of the bag and am dying to see the rest.
looks awesome

In these photos the jacket does not look faux...are you lying?! LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou have perfect bed head here, I love it!
Thanks for the sweet comment, E :) Um, I LOVE that you don't drink either. Thanks for *clarifying* cause I thought for *sure* when I visit Utah you had plans of having our double date at a bar. LOL.
Happy weekend, hon!
I absolutely love your shirt! I've been looking for a really cute denim shirt for awhile now too, it hasn't worked out yet but I have high hopes :)
ReplyDeletelove the bomber jacket elaine !
ReplyDeleteLove the mountains in the background! The rockies are so amazing, they need to be making more of an appearance in your shots! Also, what you have been doing with your hair lately is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for the perfect pair of lace tights forever--I love yours! I think I will have to copy you and put a pair on my birthday wishlist on myregistry.com.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your leather jacket! It looks fantastic on you.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the mountains in the background. It looks like such a beautiful place to live.
your hair looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteLooking good lady!
ReplyDeletecute boots!
ReplyDeleteLove the boots!
ReplyDeleteI have some shirts like that.. especially when I was first pregnant.. you don't only get a bigger belly when you are pregnant, the girls up top get bigger first.
ReplyDeleteYour jacket is totally cute. I am with you, we can always wish for more uh... Me too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you want to swap some items but you still look super stylish. Isn't it funny how before you go on a trip you can convince yourself to buy anything for the trip? I did that for Europe and then it ended up being a bit colder so a lot of outfits never got worn like I wanted...oops!
ReplyDeletedespite your wishlist, i think this outfit works really well and is totally flattering on you (esp the skirt).
ReplyDeletebut it is always good to have a few things on your wishlist.
Awesome boots!<3
ReplyDeleteEven though you feel meh about this outfit, that you can mix in those tights and the bright purse for interest is great. Really, the outfit looks wonderful.
ReplyDeletehttp://lawschoolfashionista.blogspot.com/
i get like that with my outfit too sometime :) thats why i wish i knew how to sew. i still think you look nice though!!
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt. Love the mountains in the background. I grew up in Pleasant Grove Utah. The mountains make me homesick. There are no mountains in the desert.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoy your style and your blog. Keep inspiring me!
adorable skirt!
ReplyDeleteOh GOD,Love the background,soooo amazing !
ReplyDeleteI think you look fabulous as usual, but I get the sentiment. Sometimes, I wish I could a magic tailor who could change my clothes, just ever so slightly, to fit my moods. Love the new bag.
ReplyDeleteWhen I have a button up that is just a little small in the bust area, I just layer a neutral colored cami and up button the top part to allow more "room". But maybe it's too warm in Salt Lake City for that? I am getting jealous of non Northern climates as our winter drags on.
Bummer about the swap, but we'll figure it out in the future!
I think that denim shirt is quite perfect on you!
ReplyDeleteyes, i like the skirt and boots...and the weather...cheers, philou.

i'm lovin' your brown leather boots, Elaine. i've never been into boots much, but i really like yours. it's time to save up for a pair. i know your boots are thrifted, but do you know the brand?
ReplyDeletei love to see people mix brown and black together! i think that it highlights both colors wonderfully... knee-length skirts truly flatter your figure elaine :)

ReplyDeleteI recently sold the black skirt you have on here from Old Navy to the buffalo exchange because I wasn't wearing it this year( and I wanted some spring clothes cash) but now I am wishing I still had it, it looks so cute one you!
ReplyDeletetobe honest i dont see too much wrong with it .. i wish all the time that m cropped moto jacket was longer .. the grass is always greener on the other side .. besides i like the way your denim shirt looks with a longish skirt
ReplyDeleteI loveeeeeeeeee the background. Your outfit it's so great, i wish i looked as good as you with long skirts.
