Potential Librarian

3/31/2010

It was so gross today in Utah. One day it's 70 degrees and now it's in the 30s. I definitely won't be missing this weather when we're in LA! We're so excited...even for the moving part. This was our first apartment since we've been married so it'll be fun to see how our new one will feel.

Wearing F21 necklace ($8), Gap shirt ($15), thrifted belt ($2), NY&Co. skirt ($10), Target tights (gift from my SIL), and Geox flats ($37).

I've been poring over Apartment Therapy trying to get some good ideas on studios. We definitely have some purging to do... including the shop! Check it out and let me know what you're interested in. I need to get rid of EVERYTHING.

I love this outfit, it's very sexy librarian, if I do say so myself! I should try that out sometime, the big statement necklace with the buttoned-up blouse.

Oh I hear you! I'm pretty much over Utah weather!
Sometimes my boyfriend tells me I look like a librarian...I'm not sure if it's because I really do or if it's because that's what I want to do after I graduate.

Garage sale?

Also, I hear you on the weather. Today I thought, "It's been so nice lately, I bet I could get by with just a light jacket." Then I opened the door. Sigh.

YO! i have that gap shirt. it's so annoying that it has to be constantly ironed (wrinkles and that folded section down the middle?!!!) (maybe i'm bad @ taking care of it)

I love your blog! I recently stumbled across it and am absolutely addicted! I look forward to every new post :) I do have a question, not to sound ignorant, but a huge percentage of blogs I've become fans of are LDS women. Is is encouraged by your church to have a blog or is it a random thing that my percentage is so high? I'm genuinely curious.

I don't know why, but when I read this post I thought how awful it would be if you went "Hollywood" while in LA. But that won't happen, you're a strong woman with a strong sense of herself.

@Anonymous Hello Anonymous! Thanks so much for the comment! That is a great question. No, our church doesn't encourage blogging. It is quite fun though ;). I'm sure everyone has their own answer but my personal assumption is a lot of LDS women are stay-at-home mothers and they need some personal time and blogging seems to be the best outlet.... It is for me at least!

It's going to be so much fun to decorate your new apartment!!

Yes, the weather can make getting dressed so not fun. at least it isn't raining!

I love those lace tights, so cute.

I'm moving to Singapore and selling EVERYTHING too. Craigslist is my most recently visited website lately. Narrowing down a three story house's worth of stuff into three suitcases is frustrating and liberating at the same time.

Good luck to you and the husb!

The only thing not fitting in the "sexy-librarian-look" is the necklace, but screw me, you look awesome anyway.

You look great! The perfect blend of professional, classy, and beautiful. Like Katherine Hepburn, if she wore skirts. Lovely styling.
And yeay for the new beginings! I loved grad school (sometimes) and you will love LA. You're gonna eat so much good Korean food. Jealous! (My cousin raves about bulgogi taco truck).

You are rocking that high buttoned collar.. I've never done that, but I love it on you. Good luck with the move, the shop, and setting up the new apt!

HOT LIBRARIAN! That skirt is a great length for us LDS women! And so flattering too!

princesspolitico said...

as someone who works in a library, it’s really easy to get into that groove of dressing like a stereotypical librarian… even my mother says i dress like an octogenarian, haha! well, your outfit is more preppy [i know people hate that word, but i just love it and the aesthetic] vibe. especially because you’ve paired your awesome shirt with a full skirt and detailed tights. you look CHARMING!
