Sorry. I still can't get over the layered pearls look! It's fun to rework them with different necklaces too. Except they keep swinging around and getting caught (ahem)...

I already said this on my twitter account but I feel like it should be said here on MY blog: Please for the life of me STOP asking me to follow your blog. I'll follow it when I want to. It is really annoying when half of the comments I get are ones where you are asking me to follow you. Frankly, it makes me less inclined to read your blog or even get to know you.
'Rant over.

Wearing F21 necklace ($8), faux pearl necklace ($5), faux pink pearl necklace ($10), top from Korea ($10), J Brand jeans ($158), and Geox flats ($37).
Love the necklaces.
ReplyDeleteAnd my blog isn't worth following:)
lookie look! you never fail to impress! :)

ReplyDeletei just love the layered pearl look! I totally need to get on that trend soon. That red looks really good on you!
ReplyDeletePeople really tell you to follow their blog?? that's so strange! I would never ask/tell someone to follow me!
Layers upon layers of pearls?? Red, black, white?? Elaine?? I honestly want to borrow this outfit, then maybe temporarily steal it. You look so chic, I love it! (sorry for the gushing)

i love layered pearls, too! i know what you mean about them getting caught though....i wore some on new year's and they got so tangled i had to cut them off! yikes!
ReplyDeletered is a fantastic color on you and the cut/shape of this top is very becoming. love the slightly poofed sleeves.

ReplyDeleteLove the layered necklaces! It adds some pizazz to your outfit!
ReplyDeletethe pearls look FABULOUS. but, you do make a point about the swinging around and getting caught in them. i would find that annoying, too. too bad since they look so great.
ReplyDeleteOoo liking the layered pearl look, I'm so rubbish with accessories I wear the same necklace and bracelet everyday.
ReplyDeleteSE x
P.S Nice rant :)

ReplyDeleteYou have me completely inspired to go all super simple but then add pearls. I think I'll try it today!
ReplyDeletethese necklaces look amazing. so chic. like coco chanel version ;)
ReplyDeleteThe skinnes look AMAZING on you!!! I love the vibrant red top.
ReplyDeleteI love layering pearl necklaces together. You did a fab job here of adding the right amount of layering and not overdoing it.

First, the pearls are amazing. Second, I love that pop of red against your dark hair and black jeans. You look stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love the top! The details are so cute, and the colour is amazing on you!! The multiple strands of pearls look great too! You have proven that your look doesn't have to be complicated to be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love this look nice and simple but with the pearls it adds like a chicness to the whole outfit. The color red is very pretty on you.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
I love this simple and classy outfit.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's spring there already.
Nice layering! I have a few strands of real and faux pearls I've been given as gifts over the years and i never know how to wear them--this is some good inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI like the skinnies A LOT! I have a similar pair but I'm kind of intimidated to wear my skinnies with ballet flats. Ha. I'm not sure why. It does look great on you though ...maybe I'll give it a try.

You look simply smashing in RED and I love that you are looking at the camera in the second shot...the pearls complete the total outfit !
ReplyDeleteGirl that is your color. The cut is so flattering too on the top. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThat brick red/burgundy color looks fab on you. And you rock the skinnies!
ReplyDeleteLoving the layered pearls too! And the color of that top is divine on you - the puffed sleeves are adorable.
ReplyDeleteMy long necklaces get ... caught, too. Annoying, ain't it? But the layered pearls are worth the annoyance!
ReplyDeleteI love layering pearls with other textures. My favourite is metal chains...rocker chic :)
ReplyDeletenot to be weird, but I just adore how your body looks in clothes! it's just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh and follow me! wait, i am totally kidding. hehe. :)
i have to say, you definitely are the pearls kind of girl, the look really works for you. layering the pearls really modernizes the classic pearl look :)
ReplyDeletei'm obsessed with the pearls! and also, that was so sweet of you to think of me with that part time job! your so stinkin cute, i seriously will look into it for sure:) i'm always needing motivation to regulate the blood sugars better...
ReplyDeletebut elaine, i have a more serious question to ask you, and i feel like now it is finally the appropriate time....
elaine?... will you follow my blog?
red is a FANTASTIC COLOR for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat look! are you wearing red for heart disease awareness? :)
Hi, love the layered pearls look. Makes any outfit look classic, doesn't it? It totally bugs me when people put follow me in the comments and add their blog link loads of times. I don't mind the odd 'you might like this' or a giveaway tip but some people are just plain rude! I'm not sure if you follow me but if you ever decided to I shall be very happy, but until then I shall still be following you so get to see all your cute outfits!
ReplyDeleteI love the sleeves on that shirt. And it looks great with the pearls.
ReplyDeleteyou look good in red. cute outfit. it looks warm in SLC. where's the snow? i can't believe i actually miss the snow.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful necklaces!;)) Have a nice weekend!!
ReplyDeleteYou look radiant in red! The necklaces are fantastic, too.
ReplyDeleteHa! Have you seen the movie Thoroughly Modern Millie? She couldn't get her beads to hang right.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a rich and pretty colour combo on you! And the pearls are pretty and opulent even if they keep getting stuck where they shouldn't...
ReplyDeleteThis look is stunning. I need to purchase some pearls and replicate it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute shirt! I love it when I can find shirts with sleeves like that.
ReplyDeleteI like layered necklaces, but- as someone already referenced Thoroughly Modern Millie- my beads don't hang right, so I gave up, haha.
Love the layering, it looks gorgeous on the red!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I hope I'm not that pushy about my blog!
I've noticed your look has been changing up a bit lately. I LOVE this outfit and would wear in in a heart beat! I have a question, Do you have to hem up your own pants? or do you buy them shorter? I'm just assuming your shorter...I hope that's ok. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat bothers me is when people say, "great blog" and then ask me to follow, but I can look up comments they left on other peoples blogs and it's the EXACT same. Like they even really looked at my blog.
I might take you up on Saturday if your still wanting to go to DI if your still looking for someone. You can email me if you'd like, and I'll give you more contact info. My email...yeah it's easy, gangsterpixie@gmail.com
Really liking this outfit!!!It looks like Spring is on the way there?
ReplyDelete1. Red looks great on you 2. this look is so classic! 3. cute 4. I also don't like it when other bloggers leave their link to their blogs in the comments 5. ^.^
ReplyDeletei really love your looks with the layered pearls- keep em coming! i have been trying to find some of my own at various thrift stores, and i plan to use your looks as inspiration. i like how classic this look is, with the red white and black. it reminds me of an older chanel look!
ReplyDeletei was really tempted to jokingly post "looks nice! follow my blog!"- UGH it really is annoying. i hate getting those comments too! ~joelle
You look great in red and black--and the necklaces are perfect!
ReplyDeleteYES! I posted about my obsession with layered pearls on Tues. Looooooove them! They glam up a look so perfectly. Your necklace is just gorgeous. : )
ReplyDeleteYou´re one hell of cute girl :)
ReplyDeleteLove your tight pants and the red shirt you´re wearing.
And no, don´t you follow my blog, just keep posting such good-looking pictures.
LOL! I ditto your rant! :) Especially annoying when the comment clearly shows the person didn't even read your post, let alone show any interest in your blog in general. I delete those generic "follow me" comments.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the sleeves on that top! And you look fantastic in that red. I'm needing to get some thicker chain necklaces to layer with my pearls. My thin ones seam to disappear.
Elaine! I just love this outfit, and even though I'm newer to this type of blogging (meaning not just blogging about my adventures), whenever i see those types of comments, and you know they didn't even look at your post - well yeah you get it.
ReplyDeleteyou rock the skinnies, and the pearlies so well. have a wonderful weekend. i feel like i haven't seen you in forever, which is weird i shouldn't have that feeling at all HAHA. tell the i say hi, and so does TT!
black, red & white very nice fusion :)pretty and comfy outfit !
ReplyDeleteLove the colors/details of the shirt :) Looks great with the pearls!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love the layered necklaces. Pearls just can't go out of style, of this I am convinced.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit! You look amazing, definitely one of my favorites! I don't even know who follows me, nor do I care but I do think it's awesome that you leave comments on my blog. I think it is so sweet! Thanks for voting for me by the way! I won! Anyways, your blog is awesome!
ReplyDeleteamen, sister!!

This is now one of my favorite outfits of yours! Very smooth and bold yet simple and cute. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love that layered necklace look!!
ReplyDeletePearls always step it up a notch.... i want those black jeans.
ReplyDeleteI am sooo upset, yesterday I went to exchange a pair of black jeans that were too small and they no longer had my size :(
This has to be one of my favorite outfits I've seen you wear. Love that top, it flatters you so well with the necklaces.
ReplyDeleteI think I saw you on campus the other day and you looked chic as usual.
nice outfit! you look so fab!
ReplyDeleteummmmm.... yes, i love this outfit. Classy.. yet comfortable. Awesome :)
ReplyDeleteAren't J Brand jeans the best? I wore my favorite pair out... literally. The fabric wore down so thin until it was gone.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
love the pearls on the red!!!POP!
ReplyDeleteThe cascade of pearls is refreshing over that solid sweater and black skinnies, very nice Elaine! But my favorite part of the outfit is your very cute ballet flats -- I love the thin little bow they have going on ;)
ReplyDeletethis is such a lovely outfit! i love it so, so much! you look very pretty! ^^
ReplyDelete<3
I have to agree, I love the layered necklace look. Did you buy one that is made all together or are you just pairing a bunch of different ones together? I'd like some tips because your combinations look fantastic! Mine seem to be lacking every time I try :P
ReplyDeletePS: have fun in P-town this weekend. Maybe I'll run into you at the DI. It's seriously my favorite place in Provo.
Oh my goodness, I love those layered necklaces!! They look perfect over the solid shirt.
ReplyDeletelove the layered look (as practically everyone above me agrees)
ReplyDeletehave a happy friday :)
i freaking love this outfit.

those necklaces just look great together! i am not so great at layering necklaces so that the lengths are that perfect mix of put together but fun/'eclectic' looking. awesome!
ReplyDeletethat's weird about people asking! i'm sure they are just coming out of a place of excitement so i would just do my best to ignore it and take it in stride. they just want you to like them... i see stuff like this a LOT with the high schoolers i teach. a lot of the asking for certain things to gain approval. seems weird but i s'pose sometimes it makes sense. just breathe!
I love your layered necklaces so much!! I do that all the time with a bunch of my gold necklaces, but I might have to try this look now! Inspirational, as always!
ReplyDeletei like your top, and how simple your outfit is. success!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace collection is fantastic! Okay, I guess I need to be on the lookout for additional pearl necklaces so I can actually layer them... ;)
ReplyDeleteI loooove your necklace look here.
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine! Red fits you a lot! I liked it.
ReplyDelete:)
I gave you a little award on my blog. I know it's kind of a silly thing but just wanted you to know it. :)
Hope everything's ok girl.
xxx
I'm loving the layered necklaces! And the colour of that top is gorgeous on you! I especially love the sleeves, it's hard to find tops with sleeves that length.
ReplyDeleteI don't get too many people leaving comments like that on my blog, but when someone leaves a sweet comment I am much more likely to check them out that if they spam my comments with links to their blog! Oh, and one link is enough!, haha!
I love how just the touch of the pearls can dress us any outfit. You look stunning!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
xx
The sleeves on the top are so lovely - such a flattering look!
ReplyDeletesomeone really should write a book on blog etiquette! it's so strange to get comments like that. they're basically spam!
ReplyDeletei love the sleeves on your blouse and the fit of your pants!
very cute outfit!

ReplyDeleteleethroughthelens.blogspot.com
u look so nice:) and cute:)
ReplyDeletelove this outfit and your hair!!!
xoxo
Elaine, I love how you layered your pearl necklaces here. I know how you feel about them "swinging out and getting twisted" all the time. Layered necklaces are such a great look, but so high maintenance.
ReplyDeletelove that color top on you! you always look chic and classy!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful, definitely don't get over the pearls! you incorporate them very well, this is classy and fresh and this red makes you glow.
ReplyDeleteRed is such a pretty color on you!
