YOUR Fall Outfits

Thank you to everyone who sent me their best fall outfits! After looking at all these pics, you can't help but be inspired for fall.

First up is Lauren. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know I love neutrals! I especially love how she used bright pops of color in the second picture! When I am in a rut, I always stick with blacks and grays. This is a great way to make your outfit a little more interesting. And as shown here...dresses are not only for summer!

I've gotta admit.... I've been in a rut. It's just been too cold for me to be creative! I feel like I've worn a lot of this before...which I probably have. Graphic Tees

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you've probably noticed that I don't wear a lot of graphic tshirts. Honestly, I think I have three in my closet!!! I'm just not a graphic t-shirt person. I'd rather invest in basics and prints and not advertisements or "witty" sayings all over my chest.

But instead of going on about what I don't like, I'll show you what I do like.

Blazers can be casual too

I'm still all over this blazer. It just happens to match everything I wear.... :) But it's supposed to snow tomorrow so no more chic jackets but big fat coats and trying not to freeze my butt off.

80s Much??

This is a different blazer than my thrifted boy blazer. As you can tell, it is a little big and boxy so I belted it. Some of the older ladies at church today commented on my outfit....probably because they've actually lived through this big-shouldered trend in the 80s!!!

How to Wear (Jersey) Scarves

I received a reader question from Chantel about scarves. She just bought a jersey scarf and had trouble finding ways to wear it, which I can totally understand because it is thin. A lot of my scarves are actually shawls and as wide as hers but are woven so they hold their shape a little better and create volume that jersey scarves don't have.

Here is how I've worn my shawl scarves. I usually tie them because the ends go everywhere...especially in the wind.

Because of the thinness of jersey scarves, it would probably be best to use them as belts. Here is a tutorial on how to make a scarf-belt. Another way you could increase shape and volume for jersey scarves is to double up by using two scarves and wear them like you see in the pictures above. It would be a great way to sneak in some extra color or prints!

Or you could also try belting it. Check out how Jen of SecondSkins wore it.....it's a cardigan!! Isn't it ingenious?? I'll have to try that for myself...

Wind Tunnel

If you were wondering....yes, this is a repeat outfit! But it's different enough to be posted again, right?? 

I think I'm getting better at this picture-taking-business. It takes me a max of 10 minutes now compared to 30 minutes a couple months ago! Maybe it's because I don't have as much time because of school so I have to get in the mode.

 And check out this wind tunnel effect! It's great for pictures but it's not great when you're walking and your skirt is slowly riding up....

Straight out of a J.Crew Ad

This is what happens when you browse two months' worth of J.Crew catalogs!! I've never even thought of layering these necklaces together. I tried to make them the focal point with a dark color outfit. I don't like wearing a lot of jewelry but this is definitely my fave ensemble.

Classic Wardrobe Essential

If you don't have a pearl necklace, you need to get one ASAP!! Pearl necklaces are such a classic staple and they instantly make your outfit look much more sophisticated. It doesn't matter if it's short or long, the trend right now is layering!! You can easily accumulate different sizes and lengths of pearl necklaces from reasonably-priced stores like Forever 21 and H&M. Or if you are into the real deal, check out Mikimoto Pearls.

Ghostly Pixelated

I'm sorry for my lack of blogging. Once we got back from our week of festivities, I got a nasty cold and stayed in bed for three days. But today I decided I was done with being sick and wanted to look decent again. I promise I'm not this white. These were taken with the husband's phone because I left the cam at home. So these will have to suffice...for now.

Guess what I did over the weekend?? (while I was sick...) I met up with a fellow blogger and her husband!! We went out for Korean food and had a GRAND time. The only bad part is I forgot my camera....and we were both suffering from colds so hopefully we'll both be well for our next scheduled meet-up!

Boot-mates

Another quicky-- I've been wanting boots like these for SO long!!! and I finally found them.....through endless.com. They say western but I honestly don't see it....thank goodness. I already have a pair, thanks! 

Anyway, I wore this yesterday. I think... Now I don't remember. It's been a long day. But fall break is around the corner and then San Francisco here we come!!!!!

Anybody have recommendations for SF?? We've already hit the tourist spots and would like to try out some new places and eats!

Sorry....this has to be a quicky. I'm not supposed to be blogging - I have a take-home test/essay to do!!! So this is what I wore on Sunday for General Conference. We were able to get tickets to the afternoon session!! Don't you love nice people?? I sure do!

Street Style #4: General Conference

I just love everything about her outfit. I'd wear this in a SECOND. I actually had to hunt her down in the crowd to ask for her picture!!! Aren't you glad I did???

Don't they look AMAZING?!?!? If everyone dressed like them, the world would be a much better place.

You can't help but stare at them because they look SO chic!!! Motorcycle jacket? Check. Boots? Check. Vintage lace top??? CHECK!!

Doesn't she look so classy?!? Love her trench and boots and that red scarf!! Side note: I found her at the food court..hence, the McD's coffee signs!

Prep-tastic

Happy General Conference weekend!! Hope you guys are liking it so far. Anybody have extra tickets to any of tomorrow's sessions by chance??? ;) Anyway, get ready for a street style post tomorrow - I already took a couple pics today.

The Instant Button

Thanks to Danielle of Fell4Fashion, I've saved many eyes from a buttcrack or five. I can't believe I didn't know about this before! I already have mine and have been wearing it for a week or so. It's such a lifesaver! Not to mention it makes you feel better about yourself because you have to cinch the waist on your jeans!! Although I need it because I have a big bum but a small waist. What kind of Asian woman has a big bum?!? It doesn't make sense.
