Happy Saturday to you! The husband and I were productive this morning and scouted out some garage sales. I forgot how much fun they were. Scored some climbing gear too so hopefully that'll motivate me more to go to the gym.

And thanks for all your inspiration suggestions - it's nice to know what inspires others.

It was high 70s today and, yes, I did wear a scarf and jacket. My creative juices have not been flowing lately. Somebody or something please inspire me........ What's been inspiring you lately? Drop me a line.

Michael from Whooga contacted me yesterday and told me about a great offer they have right now. They sell winter boots and it's a perfect time to stock up on winter essentials! Right now they're offering $30 off your purchase. Just make sure you enter the code ANAPCRIACO at checkout. Happy shopping!!! I think the boots on the left are so cute!

Rinse and Repeat

Monday, May 25, 2009
I know you have already seen this before but I like it. So the shorts/boots make their comeback. I can't get enough of these boots. I wish summer wouldn't come so I could wear them more. Hey, check out my calves!!! Hahahaha, probably not something you want to read about but I am trying to get in shape for our family trip to Hawaii. I want to think I am making progress...so don't mind my side note.

It was raining today so the doorway pic is back. This is what I wore to church today. I have about nine skirts but more than half of them are not flattering on me anymore, which is why the high-waisted skirt has always been the go-to skirt for me lately. Well, since wearing the same skirt over and over again isn't very creative, I tried to focus my efforts on a different one. I thought of this outfit right before I went to sleep (after many futile attempts, of course).

Happy Memorial Day, USers. Does anyone know why we celebrate this holiday?? Because I don't.........

These clothes didn't really flatter my body but I loved the looseness of these shorts (I rolled them up halfway through the day to make them look less mom-ish. No offense! I know there are stylish moms out there but there are those who need help. Admit it. It's true.) and the blazer. I thought the boots would make a nice comeback with this ensemble as well. Anyway, I have concluded that the top of my head is easier on the eyes than my face. And as I've stated before.....I suck at faces.

I have recently caught the baby bug and was browsing around Etsy when I came upon this lovely number. How ADORABLE is that hat?!? and the baby of course! (Please do not tell the husband...)

Also, LaToya is doing a giveaway and I would like to win the bracelets so don't enter!! Thanks. :P

Yes I am Asian

Wednesday, May 20, 2009
I am wearing one of my new shirts today. It's from Forever 21. What drew me was its color - I don't have anything pinkish-gray-purpley. I like it! Plus, it stretches to the max so I can wear it when I get preggo. Double score.

I am also wearing brown shoes if you couldn't tell (I love the bows). Black and brown DO go together. I used to be one of those matchy-matchy people but don't worry, I am better now. Anyway, I felt very cute and Asian today. I usually try to downplay my Asianness but today it was just inevitable.

I wish

Tuesday, May 19, 2009
This is what I wish I wore today. The outfit I had on earlier didn't feel as good if that makes sense. So right when I got home from work I changed into this..... :P (Side note: Is anybody else's workplace really really cold? I go to work dressed for the weather and find myself in an icebox. If we can afford new computers, we can certainly afford to install a working thermostat..)

Wearing Hanes shirt (the husband found it in the Architecture building while he was cleaning....so FREE), H&M necklace ($5, 2 years ago), Aeropostale jeans ($25), Nine West boots ($65).

And then I dragged the husband to go shopping. But don't worry....it was a consignment store and I was able to get two shirts for $7. Love it. So does the husband.

Monday, May 18, 2009
Not a very exciting outfit today I'm afraid. Just wanted something light for this 90 degree weather that has somehow hit us.... Might as well take advantage of it so I'm gonna try to take my pictures outside as much as possible. It is no fun looking at a doorway pic, I know.

Sunday best

Sunday, May 17, 2009
Even though school is over, I still find that I am busy. But we were able to make time for game night with some of my husband's friends and their wives this weekend. Not gonna lie....thought game nights were lame when I was a bachelorette, but they are actually quite fun, promise :).

Wearing Gap top ($7), Old Navy high-waisted skirt ($8), some gold necklace ($5), thrifted Nine West shoes (the husband found these for me....$3!!!!).

EDIT: I was debating whether or not to put prices up. Some I am very proud of, others not so much. But I decided that price is important too...especially when you're poor! And plus, I love me some good deals!!

Thursday, May 14, 2009
If you haven't figured it out already, I don't have that many clothes. I used to, but then I sold a lot of it (since tastes change) and bought a little with that money. And being a poor married college student doesn't help either. So this blog is really to help me be more creative with the clothes I already have. This is my realization after a couple weeks of blogging.
Wearing thrifted Talbots blazer ($4), Ann Taylor Outlet dress ($20), thrifted AK belt ($1), Old Navy gladiators ($7).

Just realized my outfit today looked a lot like this. So much for creativity..

Wednesday, May 13, 2009
I felt very 90s today with my denim jacket and because I also waved my bangs which made me look like I had a mullet. EW. I tried to comb it out to make it look less trashy...hahahah.

Wearing H&M scarf (gift from a friend), thrifted AE denim jacket ($5), Gap Outlet tee ($7), J Brand jeans ($158), Nine West boots ($65).

I realized I don't like summer. I hate being sweaty and getting tan (which means my skin loses its elasticity and, therefore, I get wrinkles sooner...definitely an Asian thing!). Wish I lived where it was 60ish degrees all-year round. The husband suggested SF but it is too cloudy and rainy for me.....I think....hm....maybe not...

Tuesday, May 12, 2009
On to summer style.... Trying to stay modest in the summer is difficult. It's definitely considerably easier to dress for the winter. But when it is 90 degrees outside, please ditch those pants! Skirts are such a classy way to ward off the heat and it is always flattering. Plus, you've gotta show off those legs!
Wearing thrifted blazer ($3), DownEast white tee (gift from my MIL), Wet Seal skirt, thrifted belt ($1), Old Navy shoes ($7).

I found out how to do messy hair and I love it! It is super easy and it actually works.

Husbands are handy

Monday, May 11, 2009
Yes, the half-tuck is back. Hope you guys practiced.
Wearing husband's AE tee ($10, 2 years ago), J Brand jeans ($158), Old Navy gladiators ($7, last year), (and thrifted bangles but you can't see, lame).

Busy month

Friday, May 08, 2009
Seriously, this month is crazy. There were finals...but school ended so it's all good in that department. There were also three birthdays in the husband's family and there are also two mothers for Mother's Day. I have been making cards like a mad woman tonight - still not done yet.

Wearing secondhand black Gap top ($7), DownEast black top underneath (gift from my MIL), Charlotte Russe jeans ($30), G.Wiz red shoes ($10), H&M scarf (gift from a friend).

I love this top! It is billowy and it has ruffles down the front but you can't see because of my scarf. LAME. Maybe next time.

Annnnnddd....the husband has asked to be credited for his picture-taking skillz. CREDITED.

PS...Got a new bike today! Needs some tuning up but seems to fit me well. BOOYAH.

Black in Spring?

Thursday, May 07, 2009
I love this skirt! It's high-waisted AND it has pockets. How BOMB is that? I was feeling a little shy today, hence the one pic...
Wearing secondhand F21 shirt ($8), necklace from Korea ($10), Old Navy skirt ($8), Gojane.com shoes ($35).

Back to the title.... Is it weird to wear black clothing for spring/summer? Personally, I love black. It's a universally flattering color and I plan on wearing it year-round. I tried to make it more "springy" with my bright top and fake pink pearls. Hopefully, I passed.

AND....I am breaking out all my skirts/dresses for this forthcoming warm weather. Shorts look horrible on me because I am petite...but I also have a big bum. Promise. So skirts it is.

PS.. I just realized all my outfits have either had secondhand/thrifted items incorporated into them. BOOYAH. I'm saving the world.

Good day for blisters

Wednesday, May 06, 2009
I dropped my final paper off today, which means I am done with school (for now)!!! I totally fluffed it to the max but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Wearing thrifted AE denim jacket ($5), Target tee ($4), Wet Seal skirt ($10), thrifted brown belt ($2), secondhand brown wedges ($7), thrifted bag ($3).

The husband and I went to his class party at a fellow classmate's house. This was taken on our way there. Love the Avenues!

Weather or not

Tuesday, May 05, 2009
I always check the weather online before I go to bed so I know what to expect the next day. Well, I checked it last night and it said it was going to rain (hence, the coat). But it was so hot and there wasn't even a cloud in the sky. LIARS. That's what I get for not having TV.
Wearing secondhand Old Navy red coat ($8), Old Navy tee ($4), Gap scarf ($8), J brand jeans ($158), Geox flats ($108).

And MAN. I suck at faces. Anyway, I would've omitted the first pic but I really wanted to show you guys my red coat because I like it....minus the face. And the shirt I'm wearing is pillaged to the max. Thanks Old Navy, thanks a lot. But I learned a trick - take your baggy shirt and do an effortless half tuck into your pants. Problem FIXED. I'll admit, it does take a few minutes or an hour to make it look effortless - believe me, I've tried.

EDIT: While coming home from work on TRAX today, this grandma caught my eye. Facial profile undisclosed due to respect for privacy rights. Love the coat, love the purse you can't see, love the shoes. Grandma, you so fly!

Somebody stole my bike :(. My husband realized it wasn't at the bike rack of our apartment today! It is someone in our apartment building because it's gated and you can't get in without a key.. I am upset and need to get over it. Whoever stole it obviously needed it so desperately that they had to steal from a poor college student! Whatever....it's in God's hands now.

American Apparel tee, $10; Old Navy belt, $10; Target jeans, $20; secondhand brown wedges, $7

Sorry for the face. The husband was taunting me so this was the best one out of the bunch... And this was before the bike incident! Hahaha.

And thank you for all your lovely comments!!

Black and grey all over

Collection B faux leather jacket, $55; AA tee, $10; J Brand jeans, $158; Nine West boots, $65; H&M scarf; thrifted bag, $3

The husband and I celebrated the almost-end-of-the-semester and went to a Brazilian Grill - YUM!! I'm still full.... The shirt I'm wearing is the husband's. I'm loving this over-sized tee trend - so comfy and easy! And it was cold enough to wear a scarf tonight.... That's crazy!! It's spring! Where's the sun?!?

Friday, May 01, 2009
I got this blazer at Goodwill but haven't worn it much because the strong shoulders are a bit intimidating....so I stayed safe with dark colors. I also shrunk it in the wash if you didn't notice but I just roll them up and you can't even tell....ha! Anyway, I'll have to play around with it more.

Old Navy purple top, $8; Charlotte Russe jeans, $30; Geox flats, $108; thrifted blazer, $4; some gold necklace, $5; thrifted bangles, $2.50

Also, I think every girl should own a quality pair of black flats. These are my most expensive shoes. I'm a walker so heels don't interest me much, but if I have a comfortable pair of flats, I'm all set.
