Happy Saturday to you! The husband and I were productive this morning and scouted out some garage sales. I forgot how much fun they were. Scored some climbing gear too so hopefully that'll motivate me more to go to the gym.
It was high 70s today and, yes, I did wear a scarf and jacket. My creative juices have not been flowing lately. Somebody or something please inspire me........ What's been inspiring you lately? Drop me a line.
I know you have already seen this before but I like it. So the shorts/boots make their comeback. I can't get enough of these boots. I wish summer wouldn't come so I could wear them more. Hey, check out my calves!!! Hahahaha, probably not something you want to read about but I am trying to get in shape for our family trip to Hawaii. I want to think I am making progress...so don't mind my side note.
It was raining today so the doorway pic is back. This is what I wore to church today. I have about nine skirts but more than half of them are not flattering on me anymore, which is why the high-waisted skirt has always been the go-to skirt for me lately. Well, since wearing the same skirt over and over again isn't very creative, I tried to focus my efforts on a different one. I thought of this outfit right before I went to sleep (after many futile attempts, of course).
These clothes didn't really flatter my body but I loved the looseness of these shorts (I rolled them up halfway through the day to make them look less mom-ish. No offense! I know there are stylish moms out there but there are those who need help. Admit it. It's true.) and the blazer. I thought the boots would make a nice comeback with this ensemble as well. Anyway, I have concluded that the top of my head is easier on the eyes than my face. And as I've stated before.....I suck at faces.
I am wearing one of my new shirts today. It's from Forever 21. What drew me was its color - I don't have anything pinkish-gray-purpley. I like it! Plus, it stretches to the max so I can wear it when I get preggo. Double score.
This is what I wish I wore today. The outfit I had on earlier didn't feel as good if that makes sense. So right when I got home from work I changed into this..... :P (Side note: Is anybody else's workplace really really cold? I go to work dressed for the weather and find myself in an icebox. If we can afford new computers, we can certainly afford to install a working thermostat..)
Not a very exciting outfit today I'm afraid. Just wanted something light for this 90 degree weather that has somehow hit us.... Might as well take advantage of it so I'm gonna try to take my pictures outside as much as possible. It is no fun looking at a doorway pic, I know.
Even though school is over, I still find that I am busy. But we were able to make time for game night with some of my husband's friends and their wives this weekend. Not gonna lie....thought game nights were lame when I was a bachelorette, but they are actually quite fun, promise :).
If you haven't figured it out already, I don't have that many clothes. I used to, but then I sold a lot of it (since tastes change) and bought a little with that money. And being a poor married college student doesn't help either. So this blog is really to help me be more creative with the clothes I already have. This is my realization after a couple weeks of blogging.
I felt very 90s today with my denim jacket and because I also waved my bangs which made me look like I had a mullet. EW. I tried to comb it out to make it look less trashy...hahahah.
On to summer style.... Trying to stay modest in the summer is difficult. It's definitely considerably easier to dress for the winter. But when it is 90 degrees outside, please ditch those pants! Skirts are such a classy way to ward off the heat and it is always flattering. Plus, you've gotta show off those legs!
Seriously, this month is crazy. There were finals...but school ended so it's all good in that department. There were also three birthdays in the husband's family and there are also two mothers for Mother's Day. I have been making cards like a mad woman tonight - still not done yet.
I dropped my final paper off today, which means I am done with school (for now)!!! I totally fluffed it to the max but desperate times call for desperate measures.
I always check the weather online before I go to bed so I know what to expect the next day. Well, I checked it last night and it said it was going to rain (hence, the coat). But it was so hot and there wasn't even a cloud in the sky. LIARS. That's what I get for not having TV.
Somebody stole my bike :(. My husband realized it wasn't at the bike rack of our apartment today! It is someone in our apartment building because it's gated and you can't get in without a key.. I am upset and need to get over it. Whoever stole it obviously needed it so desperately that they had to steal from a poor college student! Whatever....it's in God's hands now.
I got this blazer at Goodwill but haven't worn it much because the strong shoulders are a bit intimidating....so I stayed safe with dark colors. I also shrunk it in the wash if you didn't notice but I just roll them up and you can't even tell....ha! Anyway, I'll have to play around with it more.
