Time Yourself

I wore this to the Christmas Devotional that I went to with a fellow architecture-wife tonight. It was SO amazing!! I often forget how good the Tabernacle Choir is. And to hear the First Presidency speak is always a treat, especially from our prophet, Thomas S. Monson. If you'd like to watch it, please click here.

My husband's been at school for 36 hours straight. Poor guy... :( ..which explains these self-timed pictures in our apartment. It took me forever to get good lighting and focus! It is HARD! Hence, the look on my face.. Now I empathize with bloggers without photographers.

  1. Adorable outfit. Honestly, bad indoor lighting and a self-timer is why nearly all my pics are taken outside. ;)

    This outfit is lovely.

  19. What a cute outfit! Winter doesn't look so miserable on you as it does on me!

  20. You're too hard on yourself! The images look great, and I adore that belted skirt.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Love the belted skirt with those shoes!

I think you took great photos! I realized early on that there is NOWHERE in my apartment to balance my camera for good, full-length self-timed shots. Right now I depend on friends/classmates. It's just sort of sad, because my boyfriend is a photographer...but currently lives in another state haha.

  22. i happened to be in salt lake on pioneer day summer before last and i got to see thomas s. monson from about 10 feet away as he passed by in the parade. it was so strange partly because it was unexpected and partly because i was so used to gordon b. hinckley. and partly because i'm not a mormon anymore. but on that note, i wanted to give you extra kudos on having excellent style because most of the girls from my old ward have very little. they all sort of dressed the same.

  23. I wouldn't think to pair those shoes with the outfit (because I'm boring :P ), but they look really great together!
The Christmas Devotional was so good last night! I went to watch it at my stake center instead of on TV, which meant I could only see the screen 1/2 the time because I was pretty much on the back row, but it was fun anyway.

  24. Ohmigosh you are tres adorable! I can't even begin to tell you how obsessed I am with your shoes - they're heavenly! :)

  25. Love how the photos came out despite the difficulties. I also experienced difficulty in focusing my camera in self-timer! So hard. Pretty outfit, btw!

  26. I've only heard the Tabernacle Choir on tv and radio. It must be amazing to hear them in person! What you wore to the Devotional last night looks very nice.

  31. You look great, and I love the skirt! I also despise having to use the timer on my camera, and try to avoid it at all costs. I'll have to have my outfit photographed this evening (after it's all wrinkled and tired no doubt) because I didn't have the time or patience to deal with trying to take a decent shot of myself this morning.

  35. It IS hard to take self timed photos! But you'll get used to it. I usually take around 20 pictures and end up using 4 or five haha. Anyways, I love those tights against the blue skirt, and that scarf is such a gorgeous colour. It kind of makes me miss summer, but at the same time it reminds me of winter.

  36. taking one's own photos IS hard. and i always feel so ridiculous when i do it! but yours look great. i really like the simple outfit- the shape of that skirt is so pretty, it's good to let it stand out. the maryjanes are adorable too. and i'm jealous you get to hear the tabernacle choir in person- i was just reading what an amazing choir it is. ~joelle

I have a hard time taking self-timed photos too -- I usually rely on my husband. But I think I might be getting a tripod for Christmas so I might get more adventurous with my outdoor shots.

This outfit is too adorable, and I think you accessorized beautifully with the lighter Mary Janes. You might've inspired me for tomorrow!

  73. Yes, the First Presidency Christmas Fireside was marvellous, wasn't it? This skirt is a great piece. Not sure I would have paired it with the shoes which are a little distracting because they're outside the color scheme. Tights definitely are essential this time of year!
