Eskimo/Cowboy Lovechild

This is what I imagine an eskimo/cowboy lovechild would dress like. It looks like the snow isn't going anywhere this time. I'll have to pump up my creativity with bundled-up outfits because it is starting to wane.

Wearing Tommy Hilfiger coat ($100), secondhand AE top ($6), secondhand BDG jeans ($10), and F21 boots ($16).

Thank you for understanding about my weight-loss goal. And for those I may have offended, I am sorry, but this is my life. (Edit: When I mean my life, I didn't mean it's my life and I'm going to do whatever I want, but it is my life and it's real. This isn't a story or something fabricated.) I don't want to sugarcoat it and lie to you because I'd be living a lie myself. Ten pounds may seem like a harsh reality but I have been having negative self-conscious feelings and instead of sitting on my bum, I decided to do something about it. And for me, that is something to be proud of.

To clarify, my goal is really to tone up and lose some body fat percentage more than anything. Right now I am at 25% body fat. I am only 5'3" so I may look skinny but it's all flab, not much muscle. I also haven't seriously worked out since my HS track days....so I guess it just added up. I've started my food diary today but then I forgot about it when we went out for sushi...which we shouldn't have, but did anyway. Sushi's healthy though...right?

Wow, snow? This is a great cold-weather outfit. I have a feeling that come winter, all my OOTDs will be safely nestled beneath my giant full length down coat. Are you wearing your hair differently—it looks great this way too! :)

I hope my comment yesterday wasn't offensive to you! I didn't mean it to be, I was just suprised because I thought you looked perfect as is! But of course trying to exercise more and be in shape is a positive thing!

I like the boots with the eskimo jacket! I can't believe there is so much snow there already!

PS. I would totally count sushi as healthy...

Sushi is totally healthy. My health class recently did a chapter on nutrition, and there was much talking about the benefits of fish.
Funny though- I like sushi a lot, but it's the only way I eat fish.

I like the combination of the bright blue shirt with grey pants; it makes the blue really pop.

Aww, I think you look great, and actually 24% body fat is in the completely within the normal healthy range for women. If you fall below 20% you're in the athlete zone, which is abnormal. But I hear ya about wanting to be healthy! I'm trying to lose some fat lbs myself - but then again I'm in the 42% range (ugh).

Oh i think people were just saying you look great to us :) of course we feel different about ourselves than others see us. But if it will make you feel better about yourself, its something you want to do for yourself so goodluck :) Food diaries are a great Idea i think, i used one and it really showed me how many calories are in one food compared to another. Like how much fruit you could eat for one piece of bread.
It is deffinatley harder to put together an outfit when all you are thinking about is how cold it is! I find that in winter i wear the same thing over and over. How cold is it there? it doesnt snow where i live so im guessing very cold lol.

Your body is your body and nobody can tell you what you should or shouldn't want to do with it! You weren't claiming you were "fat" or anything - you were just saying that you aren't happy with where you are and you want to do something about it. Go for it! As for the cowboy/eskimo combo - love it!

you look so cute and cozy!

i completely understand about wanting to tone up, etc. i have the skinny/fat thing, too. i look skinny, but what's there is just soft...but i have a very, very hard time building muscle. =( it's especially bad right now from the fertility drugs...my pants are all soooooo tight. lol

that said--i plan on eating as much pumpkin pie as possible tomorrow! hope you have a great thanksgiving! ;)

I love your grey jeans! Also, I totally get you on the losing weight thing: it's your body, and if you want to do it, go for it. As long as you're doing it in a healthy way, I don't see a problem. I think you look lovely, but you know more about your health than I do.

The love-child thing is pretty funny! :) I say "DO IT! DO IT!" where weight loss is concerned. I'm also trying to get trim and fit but I have quite a few more pounds than just 10. 7 less than a month ago, but still more than 10. It's how you feel that counts. May it come off fast in spite of the holiday treats!

i should really find out my body fat percentage! i danced a bit my first two years of college, but i havent done any serious exercise since my high school cross country days. i feel ya girl.

Oooh look at the lovely snow! I agree that it gets hard to be inspired when all you want to do is pile on warm snugly things!

Oh I hear you on wanting to tone up, I'm trying to do the same. Especially seeing as it's almost summer here.

An eskimo/cowboy lovechild? haha that sounds like an intriguing story.

I love that deep blue color, it's awesome.

Good for you for going after your goals. You seem to have more motivation than me, that's for sure!

That that shade of blue on you!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, hon!

And I completely understand - I'm all for toning. We could all use it...well except Madonna...that's overkill.

Promise me you'll pig out at Thanksgiving though ok?

I totally understand the whole weight thing. My friends all say I'm too skinny, I'm 5'2" and I'm around 120. I really want to work on having less flab. To me losing weight is no that important but being healthy is. I'm taking a yoga class and I've been cutting out bad foods. Well, that's going to be broken tomorrow.
