I've gotta admit.... I've been in a rut. It's just been too cold for me to be creative! I feel like I've worn a lot of this before...which I probably have. I've been living in jeans, boots, cardis, and coats. And if you've read this post, you know that's like....five things. So I'm asking for your help - send me your best, creative, fall outfits and you might be featured here this week!

Thank you to little violet dress for the blog award!!!

Wearing Tulle coat ($44), H&M itchy cardigan ($10, 3 years ago), AE striped tshirt ($7), secondhand belt ($6), J Brand jeans ($158), Miss Me black boots ($50).
Still, your outfit is cute! I think the cardigan makes it special.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm in a rut, too, so maybe I'll take your challenge. If I'm not too embarrassed by my boring clothes. =)
I can't wait to see other people's entries, though!

you ARE still super cute! I'll try to send you an outfit if I have time... right now I am rocking the soccer pants from highschool though, so I feel you on the fall rut!
ReplyDeleteI love your cute and classic style! But yes, it is easy to fall into a rut when the weather is uninspiring.
ReplyDeleteI find that wearing bright colours makes me feel better:

I have to say that you do look adorable. One thing that I like to do when it gets cold out is really start to incorporate tights/leggings/leg warmers. I'm a serious sweater tights girl. You can take a plain grey or black dress with a colorful sweater or cardigan, throw on a pair of striped/blocked/argyle tights with some boots and look amazing. At least that's what I've been doing this week!
ReplyDeleteLove your belt!
ReplyDeletereally pretty coat!
ReplyDeletexo,

ReplyDeleteI'm a new reader, so it's not old to me! Scarves and hats are my cold weather must-haves--I have tons. And I just have to say that I love your hair!
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting back to me about the boots from a few posts ago. I think i just MAY order them.
ReplyDeleteI had another question for you: I have some meat on my bones and I want to be able to wear leggings and stockings without scaring anyone and incorporate some boots. Any ideas/alternatives? Any help/advice would be appreciated :)
Thanks again!
I still just love the look of rubber boots with skinny jeans. Just seems laid back but still trendy I suppose.

You look very elegant even in these cold days!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter. Those boots are lovely and I can't get enough of them!
ReplyDeleteI still think that your tulle coat is super adorable! And I also like that you layered the blue-ish tee and cardigan under for colour :D
ReplyDelete>_< I always thought that being cold would give more options for dressing up, since more layers means more combinations/permutations (I have thrown away my Math knowledge).
I hope you do find a lot of inspiration to get out of your rut though! I recently read a book on Fashion illustrations and the images were very inspiring! All those colours!
Love the layering and the pop of color from your cardigan!
ReplyDeleteI think you always look fresh even if it is a repeat. How is the quality of your Tulle coat? I've been thinking about getting one.

ReplyDeleteSo cool!
ReplyDelete@Chelsea Nicole
ReplyDeleteHey Chelsea,
You can TOTALLY wear leggings and stockings! Leggings are a bit trickier... My personal rule is to always wear it with a short dress or tunic to cover the crotch area. I make sure that the dress/tunic hits mid-thigh (just because I'm not comfortable with anything shorter). And by pairing it with some knee-high boots, nobody can tell they're leggings! If you are self-conscious about your legs, try darker colors like black or navy blue. I only have black leggings :).
As for stockings, They're a YES. Always. No matter what your size, tights add a little something extra, especially if they're different colors, patterns, and prints. I've seen some bloggers pair their tights with knee-high socks and knee-high boots which I thought was a good idea! You should try that out!
Hope this helped!
When I get dressed in the morning on cold days I'm just so clueless...still so sleepy and mushy headed. Thinking about it the night before works...but somehow I forget and only end up doing that for Church, LOL.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Love your little cardigan, it's cute! It is so easy to get in a rut - seems like I'm always in one or just getting out...
