Oh, Madeleine

Thank you for all your comments on my hair!!!! I think I like it.. I know it doesn't look GREAT on me. My face was made for side bangs but I really needed to get them out of my face...

My husband and I went to a Catholic mass today with a couple friends. The cathedral was so gorgeous and I couldn't help but stare at the paintings, the stained glass windows, and the architecture. I've never been to another worship service other than for the LDS church so it was nice to see what another religion did for worship - definitely an eye-opener..

I would like to to go to a Catholic mass sometime, but there's no cathedral where I live...and I want to go in a cathedral. I fell in love with the design of them when I took art history a couple of years ago.

Your belt is sweet- is that how you always do scarf belts or is it different?

I need to get a skirt that shape. All of mine are a-line, which I like, but it gets old week after week.

The blue and white goes perfectly together. I love how youve done the scarf belt!

For a second I thought your post was about me, haha. Just kidding. But you were totally in my neck of the woods today. Isn't that Cathedral A-MAZ-ing! There's something to be said for worshiping in a space that blows you away like that.

Oh! And I really do like the bangs on you. Perhaps I am just partial to full bangs because I have them myself, but I think they look great!

PS- glad to see you wearing that skirt!

Ahh I love how you tie the scarves on your waist! I want to try it but I don't have any scarves that are long enough, or they're too thick haha. Anyways, seriously the bangs do look good on you! x

I actually sung at a Cathedral (I was in Show Choir and they asked us to perform) and it was just breath-taking inside. I mean, I could feel the presence of the Lord, just an eye opener really, especially in middle school.

My favorite D.I.Y., the scarf belt! You wear it so well. I tried the other day and well, let's just say, it only worked with my all black ensemble :(. But hey, it's not meant for everyone. I love the color palette too, it all coordinates very well. Great post!

I love cathedrals- I'm not catholic, but after years and year of sitting in drab, Baptist sanctuaries, it feels almost sacrilegious to NOT worship in a beautiful place.

I think the bangs are super cute on you. It's taken me about 3 or 4 months to get used to mine. Then, I sort of let them get long and thought about ditching them- but I just trimmed them and realized I still love them!!

My stake back home does a combined Christmas choir with the Catholic church down the street, so I've been to mass. It's interesting. I was sitting next to one of the Catholic choir members, and when we got to the "Christ be with you" "And you as well" part, she was like, "You don't have to do this." I told her, "When in Rome...!" It's always good to see how other people worship.

I went to a catholic high school, and just went to an LDS service this past sunday and I can say that the LDS service was a lot more interesting and all around better than the catholic one, in my opinion.

and I just looove that white skirt! especially with that blue top and scarf belt!

Was it the cathedral of the madelenine on S. Temple? its amazing... you need to go back for their christmas carol program it's spectacular. we went on christmas eve when we lived down the street, during our U of U days! It moved me to tears (p.s. I am LDS too!)

I've seen pictures of the inside of the Madeleine Cathedral...breathtaking! You're so lucky you got to go. The cathedral where I go to school is beautiful, but nothing compared to that one.
