Cycling Fashionista??

Monday, July 20, 2009
Today I rode my bike to and from work. My legs are still burning... Since this weather is unforgiving, I have to be bike-appropriate, work-appropriate, and 90-degrees-appropriate. It is so frustrating!!! I've been searching the blogger-world to find outfits and bikes for some inspiration. Here are some that I am coveting right now.......

You can click on the pictures for their sources.

As you can see, there are so many cycling fashionistas out there! I've narrowed the many down to a few of my favorites. Take a looksie.

EDIT: Leproust Vintage and The Renegade Bean have tagged me for the Kreativ Blogger Award! Thank you so much!!! Now for seven tidbits about myself......
  1. I am a political science major but probably won't do anything with it after graduation. It is utterly useless because I am not going to be the first Asian female president nor do I want to be a lawyer.
  2. I am from the suburbs of Philadelphia. and now I'm in Utah?!?
  3. I have never been to a bar or club. Yes, I know, shocking. But when you're LDS and you're married, there is really no reason to. Except there are a couple piano bars that have been very enticing....
  4. My second year anniversary is coming up soon and I hope we do something fun, hubby.....
  5. I still don't know what I want to do/be when I grow up.
  6. I have wide feet. So shoe shopping is not fun.
  7. My hair naturally flips to the left.

  4. I cannot even tell you how happy I am to have stumbled upon your blog!! Living in So Cal in the summer is heinous (though not nearly as bad as UT...) and lately I've been struggling with finding cute, modest, functional ensembles. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. kudos to you for riding to and from work!!!! i would do that.. but work is about a 40 minute drive away.... which translates to 1hr30 bike ride maybe??!!? hehe! i love how some of those women are wearing heels while riding! crazy!

  7. @Nat, I'm so glad you found mine too! I hope you stop by more often! I would love to hear your input. And...I'd much rather wish I were in southern California than Utah.

  8. bicycle !! yeay!! they're riding in style you know.. haha :D and they care for the environment too :D nice post girl!

  9. Everyone just looks so cute and fashionable! Gosh if I was on a bike, I'd just look like a hot mess. I can barely ride one without falling so adding a cute outfit to the mix & some heels would only cause a disaster. lol

  10. love them all... i ride bicycle everyday as well :D

  11. Clubbing IS full of creepers! That's why I always make sure I'm with my girlfriends or at least a guy friend. It's pretty fun depending on where you go and who you go with. I prefer something where I can sit down sometimes. That was my first time going in the city since I've turned 21.

And I love all the pictures you posted up of bicycling fashionistas! How cool! I go to a university where we're known for all our bikes. First years aren't allowed to bring a car (even though I did haha) and have to bike everywhere. Everyone still looks refreshing in their photos. I think I'd look like a hot mess! It's ridiculously hot and is barely cooling down to a 98 degrees here!

  13. Thank you for commenting on my blog! :) I left you a note back there, so be sure and check it out.
There are a lottt of bikers in Denmark, and I think one of the most fashionable outfits here is the jumpsuit, which has been coming back for a while. So that would be my vote!

Be sure and stop by and enter my photo caption contest! Any entries allowed!!

  14. I've always though that more women should bike... it keeps you slim and is better for the environment. All these ladies look so chic! When I lived in Amsterdam, bikes were everywhere... it was quite scary actually. Thanks for sharing these!

  20. Wow the first picture is amazing! And it's way too hot and too dangerous on the roads for me to cycle around here in Singapore. I can only do it for leisure in the park. Sadly.

  24. So glad I ran across your 'seven things'....sometimes I feel like I'm the only married adult who still doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up. Over my college years I have majored in:

    Pre-med
    English
    Philosophy
    General Studies
    Nursing
    Classical Studies

Ridiculous, isn't it? Now I'm thinking of throwing it all down the tubes and becoming a pastry chef, lol. C'est la vie!

  35. This makes me miss my bicycling days (which was all the day back in high school...)! I also nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger award, by the way, but I see you've already been tagged. I had fun reading your answers... I have wide feet, too! I've heard it's an Asian thing, but honestly I think it's just a "hey, I got the wide feet gene" thing!
